I really wish you'd have given him a ride in the captain's seat. Mr. Norell, Donnelly, Stoker, Lopez, Mantooth, and Tighe did more foe EMS in this country than most people understand. They are national treasures. God bless them all.

Mike Norell was wayyyyy to feeble to have gotten up into that fire truck?!! You didn’t see he was in a friggen wheelchair!!??!! Have you any idea how hard it would have been for him? It would have taken (required) a couple of firemen to lift him up out of that wheelchair and into the cab & seat! How effing selfish of people to even think of asking him to get up in that truck!!! Geez!!!

Engine 51 was built at the Elmira truck plant in NY and driven to LA by Mike Stoker and his crew. When they got in LA Co, Stoker called in "LA, Engine 51 in our own area and available." They were answered by dispatcher Sam Lanier "10-4 Engine 51, welcome home."

I was one of 6 Medevac Paramedics that were the first to be certified from the private ambulance sector. My preceptor during my internship in 1974 was Harold Aronson from La County Squad 47 in Temple City, California and went down to Universal Studios with him a few times when he was a technical Adviser to the TV Show Emergency and that his when I met Michael Norell. I hope Michael is doing good health wise. I would love to meet up again with him.

@@billtrautman4699 Do you know if today's paramedics, still have to call the hospital like they did on the show?or they don't do that no more?

@@jonathanvillalobos7994 I am not too sure I've been out of the field for several years but as I recall they might have standing orders without calling in and only need to call in and they need some guidance

@@billtrautman4699 Oh,okay because I never see paramedics with biophones no more.I think that's what the use to call them.because I remember on the show,Roy Desoto said that they can't touch a patiant without a doctor's permission.also reading your comment tells me,you were one of the original paramedics ever.wow!thats incredible to me.I always wanted to be a firefighter paramedic when I was a kid.I use to have all kinds of toys from the show emergency.anyway, Thanks for the quick reply.🙏

@@jonathanvillalobos7994 depending on system protocols, most ALS crews have "standing orders" and don't normally call in for medical control.

One of the best captain Tate and Bruno next to the battalion chief I would love to meet him Roy De Soto and Johnny gauge captain Stanley if you happen to be seeing this I’m 51 years old just like the station and I would love to meet the three top people that inspired me to the person that I am today thank you and station 51
