Are you daft? You don't become the best swimmer in the world if you're a "lazy bum". Remember, he's been swimming at world-class level since 15 when he reached finals in the 200 fly in 2000. Imagine 12 years of intense training. I can honestly say I couldn't manage that. Not the sort of distances he managed per week. And he isn't sick of swimming. He's truly passionate about it, just not interested in racing anymore. Who can blame him? He's done his job and he's happy with it.

He's achieved everything he can within the sport.
