I don't know if he's contractually obligated to record these, but I'm glad he's finally recording and engaging more with the fans through the internet (i've seen a couple of interviews, podcasts and stuff). Symphony X sorely lacks the marketing and engagement that would take the band to the next level of recognition it deserves. As a huge fan, I hope they finally record a DVD as well as release some full playthroughs and other forms of content. Same goes for Michael's solo projects.

It's Quite expensive making a live recording I mean i would love that but I can see why it's not top priority for MJR or SX.

@@zedddddful it's 2022, it's not expensive to get a couple of DSLRs and a couple mics + the live feed from the FOH. They could even get some FPV cinewhoop footage that'd be epic. Film a couple shows while on tour and bam.

He has been destroying the neck of the guitar on this album like he has never destroyed before. The solos and licks are absolutely mind blowing and I’m a speed of light. This man ages like fine wine. My fav guitar player of all times for sure. I have always been a fan of symphony x. Fell in love with their music since I heard for the first time. It was love at first sight. Keep it up Romeo. Symphony X needs a new album now to continue the legacy.

I think Bumblefoot is right there too. I texted Bumblefoot recently, saying I felt he and Romeo were the two brilliant lights in today's rock guitar world: imaginative, creative, technically perfect, etc. He said he's known him since they were teens, grew up nearby, and he had much love and respect for him!

@@paulgilbert3139 Petrucci is amazing, but he is not taking the same risks as Romeo. Check out their solo stuff and compare, meanwhile John created a fun instrumental record, Michael released 2 albums recently that are insanely good. With vocals and classical arrangements that are not the typical guitar record that we have heard for years. I have a lot of respect for John, but LT3, his last solo record, The Astonishing and other DT stuff after Portnoy, gave s lot of seconds thoughts.

@@YaoEspirito I love Bumblefoot, I have met him personally twice and I have deep respect for his mad skills. His work at Sons of Apollo is stellar, I hope to see more of that soon. Michael Romeo has released more than 10 metal albums considering Symphony X and his solo career. Every solo is a delicacy that deserves to be studied in detail. Both of them are awesome.

I come back and watch this in awe once per week. Amazing job. My guitar inspiration. I have been learning Iconoclast since last 10 years. Im about 70% there. As much as I think Iconoclast is amazingly hard, Evolution is 10 times harder.

Don't despair, Michael Romeo solos are some of the "hardest to learn Metal Solos" if not the hardest. In fact IF you can play just 1 or 2 full Symphony X songs, you will be able to learn and play ALL of the Metallica songs like you can play Green Day or Nirvana songs. 😅

I've got a couple of Symphony X covers on my channel with solos so I know very well that they are difficult, but not reason to despair over ;)

This song is amazing! This solo is wicked! Warp speed, super clean. Another masterclass at the highest level. Cool to see Romeo switching back and forth between the 7-string and the 6-string. Romeo smokes everybody.

A guitarist friend of mine told me that some of what Michael plays on 1-2 strings 'looks easy enough', but is actually extremely hard to pull off because of the sheer SPEED required of your fingers in order to play them. Michael Romeo - what a living legend!

Years ago I loved this guy. After a few encounters with his bass player on line and the groupies that follow the band... I now listen to Paul Wardingham and Andy James. The drama that follows the band ruined it for close constituents of the band.

It's funny how, soon after MJR posted a video ripping through the Divide & Conquer solo, various players posted their attempts at it. When it comes to Hybrids though, it seems to be taking a little longer... no wonder. MJR's solos are no joke at best, devastating at worst. What would we do without uncle MJR...

Michael is awesome... as my favourite guitar hero Kiko Loureiro, he owns an unbelievable technique and versatility... they are both able to perform incredible solos and riffs with a not human semplicity.... You can see their refine way of handling and playing the guitar and just at view all seems too easy to do... until you try ... ahahah... if you close your eyes and just listen to their playing you think "wow, what the hell are they doing?" then you see and.... very impressive
