One of the TT’s most experienced competitors, Michael Rutter, is our guest for episode three of The TT Podcast.
2022 will mark Michael’s 28th year as a TT racer, with seven victories and 18 podiums along the way.
In the episode, he reflects on his long and illustrious career where he has raced against - and been team mates to - some of the all-time greats of road racing.
He talks of what could have been had he pushed himself harder in the early years, what he could have achieved without an extended break from the TT, and how he and John McGuinness MBE nearly came to blows after a tasty TT Zero encounter….
If you enjoyed this episode of the TT Podcast, please leave us a rating and review wherever you listen to your podcasts.
Next time, Chris Pritchard and Steve Plater will be sitting down with rising star, Davey Todd, a young man regarded as road racing’s hottest property. So make sure you’re subscribed to receive that episode as soon as it drops.

Top man Michael, watched a lot of his bsb races during the covid lockdowns, 05/06 seasons mainly, he is in my top three road racers,I even started watching the nw200 because of him,I saw a couple of videos of him winning the nw200 in 04/05 that was back in2013, after that I started watching all the big road races every year, Even watched him at macau 2019winning after one lap that was crazy, by the way iam a Jordanian, not a lot of ppl know anything about road racing here or have interest in it but it's the greatest motorsport in the world.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Gary Johnson via email recently. He is the first motorcycle racer I have ever talked to. I don't know much about the sport (as an American), but after watching the 2018 TT over a dozen times in the past month or so, I am ABSOLUTELY hooked. Gary seems to be a true gentleman as well. Is this a common theme amongst British riders or folks in general in this sport. I cannot wait to meet these guys for real someday and visiting the IOM someday.

It's just wrong to be credited a TT win for a 1 lap electric race, it could be a valid win in the future, but just not enough competitive bikes to be a valid win. Also wrong that top racers claim a zero win, should only be open to racers who have not got a TT win, many great racers have not managed a victory.

Rutter & McGuiness should stop because you are on borrowed time & still alive but I fear the worse if you continue.

If you do that then you destroy the last bastion of freedom. May as well bend over for big brother and admit you no longer have any control of your life. Every year so called western democracies take more and more of our liberties. What is the point of living if you no longer have freedom!
