The fact that he didn’t do it for free shows he has more integrity by speaking up like this. It’s like how Anne Rice started out criticizing Tom Cruise’s role as the vampire Lestat in “Interview With A Vampire”, but then backpedaled on her opinion once a lot of money was on the line. “The Flash” was supposed to be a major train wreck and Ezra Miller going over the edge adding insult to injury. It’d be one thing if it was just that Ezra Miller was a bad person and the movie was at least “okay”. But the movie also had to suck. You’re also going to probably have more actors like Michael Keaton say stuff like this in the end because it’s not like any of the actors or the studio are making any residuals off of the movie. It’d be the same thing as a few celebrities being asked to volunteer for a school play in Podunk, Ohio and perform for the elementary/middle-school with gas or plane tickets on the school’s dime and said after the performance, “Yeah, that was kind of lame; but it was a job.” Anyway, the current holders of the IP and the marketers and advertisers and producers all decided to wipe their butts with money they’re not going to get back now. I have a feeling the story of the filming and release will make a really hilarious book one day!

@@robert04872Just because he’s making another movie doesn’t mean he doesn’t give a shit about DC. What happened with the 2017 cut of Justice League is that Zack’s daughter committed suicide and he stepped down from the film. WB gave Joss Whedon the ability to do reshoots and he reshot a lot of the film and gave it a much lighter feel which didn’t align with Snyder’s original vision. Zack Snyder’s Justice League was only about 3-4 years ago, so it’s not like he’s completely shut out DC from his life.

Or rather, a lack of the actor’s understanding of the material he’s involved with. It’s not that difficult to understand: Yes, Zod died at the Man of Steel. This story posits what might happen if hadn’t died and there was no Superman to stop him. Not difficult at all. Personally, I think it’s just tired pretentiousness that seems to mark the genre as “unimportant” and “not real drama,” but what do I know.

@@Pogol13What? Yeah you’re definitely thinking way too much. If he thought the genre was “unimportant” why would he waste a year of his life giving one of his best performances in MOS? It’s pretty simple, he’s an older guy. Probably not that into comics so he didn’t know what the multiverse was. Doesn’t mean he thinks it’s unimportant bc he wouldn’t have put the effort into Zod if he felt that way. He actually has more colorful things to say about his participation than this. Likening what Andi M. did in the Flash to someone playing with their action figures, but I think that's the nature of these multiverse-based films. Characters who previously died can come back, continuity basically means nothing and so forth. It certainly kicks the legs out from any amount of gravitas that previous films may have had when no one truly dies. I understand that's the nature of comics but it doesn't always play as well in film

@@GavinAeiltsforfun I agree with the neck snap. If not, you get into this Batman/Joker thing where you stop him until he does it again, causing even more havoc. Could he have just flown away with Zod, saving the family? Sure but Zod wasn't ever going to stop. He had to kill him.
@josue.saldivar
@josue.saldivar 11 ай бұрын
@@GavinAeiltsforfun The terror and horror that fans felt when Superman snapped Zod's neck was exactly the terror and horror pa Kent thought the world would have and fear about his son. Forgetting all the good things Kal El did during the movie and only seeing the last decision. Writing a comfortable and "safe" premise for Superman to be with no conflict is so easy and could be boring (see Returns), but the risk taken here was acceptable as I immediately felt Clark's regret when he screamed out loud as he was pushed to do something he didn't want to.
