Good morning gorgeous. My sister has this and she likes this device. I derma-plane in moderation because my skin gets irritated. I always appreciate how detailed you are with each step. Excellent information. Hugs 🤗

Marguerite Loiselle it’s exactly like the twinkle razor. But, I got these at tjmaxx and they have a hinge on the handle so you can fold it like a Swiss Army knife to protect the blade. Love them! But, every time I dermaplane, I hold my breath and cringe! It’s such a delicate process and the sound of the blade cutting the little hairs... 😖 It’s like a “nails on chalkboard” type of deal for me. But, I do it anyway because the results are well worth it. That’s why I was really excited you did this video because I wanted to see if the sonic dermaplaner was a much smoother process. Will definitely have to save my pennies!

Thanks for such a great review and tutorial! I stumbled on your channel while looking up how to use this Sonicsmooth. I LOVE it. I’m guessing you had your baby by now? Congratulations. Gotta go check out your other videos. You cracked me up in the beginning. I had the same thought about using the blade more than once.

Hi...Love your vid...Can you please do a follow up review, I'm curious how your skin reacted afterwards. Thank you!!! :)
@MargueriteLoiselle
@MargueriteLoiselle 6 жыл бұрын
Hi! sure, I’ll try to film a follow up soon. Until then, the main feedback I have is my face was red for about 12 hours, but I filmed this at night time so it was gone once I woke up the next morning and my skin was very smooth and had no rash or irritation at all! The key is to be very light and gentle while gliding the razor across your skin. You want to be super careful with what products you apply afterwards too, that plays a huge role in how your skin will react, so try to stick with gentle, hydrating products, and you should experience no irritation!

I would love an update video just to show us an irritation or lack of lol. I did try doing it again after your suggestions on a very dry face and keeping the skin pulled tight. And i didn't get as much irritation but still some. So I may not be able to do it with the cheap razer's I may have to invest in something like this if I want to get this fuss off my face. So please let me know if you had less irritation from this then your other little razer. Hugs

Hi Donna!! Glad to hear that it was slightly better! This whole procedure is irritating to begin with so irritation can be normal. May I ask what products you used afterwards, that can play a big role in it. I should have mentioned this in my video, but it's recommended to avoid any acids or exfoliating products atleast 3 days before you dermaplane, and that can help prevent irritation as well. The razor you are using plays a huge role as well. I always would get some irritation with the twinkle razors, but I got zero from this michael todd dermaplane tool, the michael todd razor seemed much better quality and wasn’t as harsh on my skin. I also have to work a little harder and rougher with the twinkle razor, whereas the michael todd one was effortless and very soft and smooth, I didn’t have to press as hard on my skin and work as hard to get the hair off. If you want to continue using the twinkle razors, maybe use a new one every time, just to prevent irritation, and see if that helps. Xx!

would it be ok to do microdermabrasion after dermaplaning?
@MargueriteLoiselle
@MargueriteLoiselle 4 жыл бұрын
yes you can, but only do that several times a year to prevent over-exfoliation. Both are great physical exfoliators on their own, and you want to be careful when mixing the two, that way you aren’t too hard on your skin barrier, but i think several times here or there is fine

Question I was watching a KZfaq tutorial on face shaving they stated if u carefully shave ur undereye area it will over time toughen that area up in a positive wrinkle helping way I know u hav take things on KZfaq with a grain of salt but do u know anything about this!!!!!
@MargueriteLoiselle
@MargueriteLoiselle 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Angelina! I have never heard that before and will look into it, but from my personal knowledge, I would never suggest to apply a razor on your undereye area. The undereye area is sooo thin and sensitive and I just don’t find it necessary to go over it with a razor, I think that could do more harm than good. I wonder if they were thinking it is similar to microneedling, and by causing a bit of trauma to that area, will help the skin regenerate and repair itself and softer skin will form, but I just don’t think applying a razor to that area is smart. Xx

This absolutely does make ur hair grow in ugly. Like how a mans does. My upper lip and chin. Stubbly!!!!!
@MargueriteLoiselle
@MargueriteLoiselle 6 жыл бұрын
Good morning! Dermaplaning should not make the vellus hair on your face grow back darker or thicker since you are not affecting the actual hair follicle, but since it is cutting your hair off straight across, re-growth may feel slightly different, but it shouldn’t come in darker or thicker. I think that once the hair is shaved off, your skin feels so smooth with the hair gone, that once the hair begins to grow back again, it can feel a bit stubbly and seem thicker coming in, and that’s because the hair has been cut at its thickest point, which can make it seem as though it’s coming back in thicker, but there’s no medical evidence showing that dermaplaning increases or darkens hair growth. I also think the hair on our face may seem thinner, before it’s cut off, because it’s exposed to daily UV rays from sun & chemicals in our skincare that may thin it out, so the new hair coming in may feel like “stubble”, but the new hairs are still growing at the same rate and thickness as they would have before you shaved them, since you never affected the cells deeper within the follicle.

Marguerite Loiselle I know it isn't darker or thicker but I used to get my upper lip threaded and the hairs didn't grow back stubbly. Now with this they do and I feel very self conscious when kissing my husband 😞

really!? very interesting! I will def note this and if I ever do another dermaplaning video, I’ll make a note about this. Has your husband noticed or said anything?
