Bro when nirei said suo never had any records of the opponents he beat, it is because he NEVER beated them. He used martial arts that does not require the fighter to fight back, which is crazy omg.

Aside from Sugishita being… Sugishita, and Suo’s EXCELLENT fight, I loved Suo dialogue this ep. He really is a nice guy, and was doing this child a service in growing him up and teaching him empathy. The process is just super rough. Plus, I love his dynamic with Sakura.

There is always something special about a martial artist in this kind of setting. While everybody throws hands based on their own experience, having one character use techniques gives him so much more grace than usual. As a practitioner of a martial art myself, Aikido, I nearly fell off my seat when I recognized one of my techniques (15:01) Guess who my new favorite character is? 😂

Some of Suo's moves remind me of techniques I used to practice in Aikido. It's not so much using the opponent's WEIGHT as his ENERGY/MOVEMENT to defeat him. So far, Suo's fight is my favourite fighting scene in anime!

Couple of points: - The only match that actually matters is the one between the captains. The others are basically the entertainment before the main event. That said, I think Sakura will lose to Togame. It would be a wake up call for Sakura that he still has to get stronger. - Suo for sure dabbled in martial arts. He seems to be using techniques from Aikido, Tai Chi, Ba Gua and even Wing Chun. - Why is no one talking about Sugishita’s fight and how he is just built different! I want to see him fight more! - Sugi broke bones, Suo broke spirits

Suos fighting style is actually aikido. It's a defensive fighting style that focuses on the opponents movements and energy within their attacks using twisting and throwing techniques to sudue them.

When i saw the episode on a website, it had (for me) a better translation of what Suo is. Protagonist didnt say that he has a craptastic personality, he said : "this guy is rotten to the core" and i think it describes suo perfectly.

Aikido is an interesting fighting style, because while it has some very talented practitioners it is also rife with frauds mainly practicing "Bull-Shido." But you get the idea, throwing your opponent off balance and using their own momentum against them.
