Thanks for your guidance. I do my meditations and pranayama daily by your videos and I feel immensely peaceful. Thanks for that. If I’m understanding you correctly, you are breathing during this hold? Other instructional videos seem to contradict this. Perhaps there are many ways to practice this technique. Could you discuss a bit the difference in techniques? It’s not my intention here to critique or have a right vs wrong argument. You clearly know your stuff, for which I am very appreciative as I use you as a resource often. When practicing intense and delicate things like this without the aid of a live teacher, it’s hard to sort through proper technique and misunderstanding.

At 1:21 you say w"e are going to do a couple of breaths", at 1:31 you say to" take a couple of breaths", while holding the pose. At 2:39 you say "after your last breath out"... Sorry if I am misunderstanding. Thanks for taking the time to reply as you do.

Is it ok if my chin doesn't reach the chest? I try to force it but the vertebrae on the neck feel a bit uncomfortable

There is no need to force it, let it just flow. If your chin touches the chest, great, if it doesn't, that's also good. Keep flowing like that and enjoy this beautiful session 🌞🙏❤

I can not sit lotus as of yet is a chair sufficient

Dear Quentin, If sitting in lotus or half lotus isn't comfortable, you can do it from a chair, whatever feels most comfortable. Peace and good energy!

Jalandhara bandha compresses the sinuses and main arteries of the neck, putting pressure on the throat to balance the thyroid and regulate metabolism. Plus, it relaxes you and alleviates stress. I hope this answered your question. Peace and blessings 🙏❤️

*WRONG -- JUST PLAIN WRONG* *DO NOT BREATHE THROUGH THE BANDHA* Bandhas are ONLY EVER DONE during khumbaka (breath retention). Ujjayi Pranayama is quite sufficient to lower blood pressure and focus the psychic breath awareness WITHOUT any need for the chin lock. It is thus contra-inducated to do the two together.
