The first time I heard this song was in 2007, when I was in the 6th grade of elementary school. My homeroom teacher printed out the English lyrics, distributed them to all students, and played them on TV. The world's warm voice, beautiful tone, and lyrics were enough to touch my heart when I first met Michael as a child. That evening, when I came home after school, I found Michael Jackson's song on the Internet, watched it along with the video, and for some reason, I remember crying. As time passed and I became a high school student, I remember actively looking for other Michael Jackson songs and concerts. I always find and revisit his songs. I am grateful to my homeroom teacher who introduced me to the heart-warming man Michael Jackson and his songs when I was young.

And yet with the ridiculous amount of money that he accrued throughout his life he spent his money on tacky, gaudy antiques & other nonsensical items of utter nonsense. Why?!? If I had half his money I know exactly what I'd be doing with it. I would be using it to 'heal the world' & help mankind, the environment & animal kingdom. MJ is not remembered today for his philanthropy. Do you not find that strange given this song? He could have done so much more, used his money for good & his profile to highlight issues to get that knowledge out there, but instead he chose to hide away from the world!! What would you do with that level of resources to heal this world? Would you waste it sleeping in an oxygen tent for decades in the belief that it'd keep you young or would you realise the folly of such hubris & vanity & instead use that money to help get running water & medicines to the poor in third world countries? Sadly, all these years later I listen to this song & it makes me think of the hypocrisy of the man!! Of the vast majority of the famous & wealthy who use their platforms to tell us what we should be doing to better the world whilst they do exactly as they please & hoard their wealth for themselves.

@@Priya12srk Depends on the angle from which you look at the world, but yeah, some things got really worse. Just means that we need to fix that, right? By our courage, our spirit, and the positive outlook. It's our job to make the world a better place, and I believe that we can, there are so many people actually working on that goal! Michael wanted that, so let's make his dream come true. There's a book called "Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World". I haven't read it myself yet, but I'm planning to, so I can't give any specific recommendation or review, but many people tell that it helped them a lot, so perhaps reading that book can help to gain a better understanding of the world and ways to change it for better. Ok but why can't I stop crying? Damn. It's been almost 26 years since this song came out and the message is still relevant. We're still struggling with the same issues. We need to put aside our differences and really unite. Innocent people are killed everyday, children suffer. When are we all gonna come to what Michael was talking about for years? Michael was unique and rare because his caring for these issues was not a facade. It wasn't a show. It was real. While most of us see them and shrug our shoulders and move on, he was determined to make a change, any change. He was determined to help as many people as he could. He felt it was his duty. His mission... And look how we treated him in return. Now that we live in a world without Michael, I feel abandoned and lonely. He was a voice for the voiceless. And was treated like dirt. 💔
