Yesterday I went for an eye test at the opticians and had to stifle my laughter 😆.My optician is cheerful anyway but I’m thankful I managed to keep my composure. McIntyre is such a legend, making everyday activities totally hilarious.

I can't even read the big A at the top, my optician waits until she's put three lenses in those glasses things before she even attempts to get me to read the letters 😂

Just went to the eye doctor last week and I did exactly that I squinted to try and make out the letters that I couldn't see whatsoever!!😂

I'm working in a big practice of ophthalmologists. And its exactly like that! The test is a little bit different, but our patients are guessing the hell out of the letters, as if there's a price to win. But we just need to do a follow up to check if the medications are working. Still hilarious to watch in this clip, although it's nerve wrecking to watch in real life 😅

One time I actually guessed all the letters correctly. It was during one of the eye tests that they administer at elementary school. I don’t have terrible vision, but I still need glasses, but after I read through all the letters the lady said I had perfect vision and sent me on my way.

im near sighted, went to get glasses a couple weeks ago, very nice to have glasses now, and as i went in to get my eyes examed i remembered this video and found myself laughing because of this. :D

.......My dad. He is the squinter, peering eyed, perfect guesser. My mum & are *convinced* he somehow cheats at the optician's. He has those magnifying readers, but he - somehow, because he can't bloody see things like he thinks he can - *never* 'needs' glasses after an eye test. He's 67. And honestly, most people would never guess how old he is. He still bounces everywhere & apart from thinner hair, I genuinely don't think he's changed much in 20 years (& I'm not being nice, or kind... everyone says it, & all his friends got older... I just hope the genes are strong!) So the point is, it wouldn't bloody matter if he wore glasses all the time. First, the rest of us have them, second, who cares anymore? Third, it's practically *expected* that a man in his 60's would have glasses. We don't know wtf is wrong with him!! *Just tell the truth!* Honestly, I think it has nothing to do with glasses, it's about winning. He thinks it *is* a game - but *you have it wrong Michael!* - the prize (apparently), is *not* winning the glasses. Or maybe it's actually walking out and telling my mum he *doesn't need glasses* 😏. Honestly, I'd say both factor high. This one hit a nerve! ;-)

My opticians says the same thing everything time I go. I have to go every 6 months since I was 5 cause my eyesight is terrible (-6.5 and -7) so I know the appointment off by heart!!!! 😂😂

i went to specsavers recently, and had to go through this. it turns out the first letter is to test if you are legally blind. If you cant see well enough to read the top letter, you are blind. i remembered this exact sketch and just went "nope, cant read the next one". i think the lady was surprised lol

They don't base your vision on your abilities Ty to read the letters. They have other tests like the hot air balloon which sees how the light enters your eye and if it reaches the back (which it should

And in the US the optician is not the doctor that's the Optometrist. I'm an optician and my job is to find proper fitting glasses for the patient based on the script. And I love it :-)

Opticians really annoys me because it seems as soon as you hit the late 30's they just want to give you glasses. It's almost unthinkable that you should still have good eyesight. I'm sure it's profit-driven. I know people who've bought glasses on their optician's say-so and the glasses sit in the draw at home because they manage fine without them.

Short sighted and long sighted. And then there's me: color sighted. What? What's that? It's when you remember people on the basis of their colors. So when you meet them again in an unfamiliar setting, and they wear a different outfit or dyed their hair, you start introducing yourself, like you've never seen them before in your life!
