Thank you for all your great videos. I just purchased a new Samsung tv (for extra bedroom) hated the original remote. I purchased the remote you mentioned - it was worth the $10 & my sanity. I’m following your recommendations on “Cutting the Cord”. My “D” tv bill went from $139 to $179 (more than my electric bill for a 3 bedroom home), now I’ve got my streaming bill down to $80! How do you change channel on tv guide without actually changing channel, eg if you are on channel 30 but you go on tv guide and want to see what’s on channel 1 without changing channel? My old tv could do this but this new one can’t, can you please reply?

How do I get the list of apps to appear in the quick settings menu at the bottom of the screen when I press the Settings/123 button? I’ve seen the apps list appear in other videos about this tv but when I press it all I get are the settings options or list of numbers.

The main select button. On the standard remote, it’s in the middle of the up, down, left and right arrows.

I just bought my Samsung TV and you have to cursor all the way to the end of the App row where a "List Edit" option is available. Click on that then cursor back over to the App you want to change. You can choose either Move or Remove.

Thanks for your video. I just stepped up from a Visio TV bought in 2014 to a Samsung 4K Smart TV. We use the Amazon Fire TV stick on all our TVs. In looking at this new TV, it appears that I don't need the Firestick as I could D/L all the apps we use and put them on that home page bar. Am I correct in thinking this? My husband is not tech saavy and wants things like they were. Amazon Fire TV and the Over-the-Air Antenna stuff. LOL it was hard enough getting him off of Comcast cable on to the Fire Stick. Now a new remote and new TV homepage. Oh boy!

Yes. You can add apps on a newer Samsung Smart TV. However, there may be apps that Firestick has that the Smart Hub doesn't.

Interesting. My TV came with the smart remote. I hated it so I ordered a knock off traditional remote and use that instead. Not being able to directly change the channel to what I wanted was the chief reason I ditched the smart remote.

I purchased the series 6200 at an estate sale. I set it up with my WiFi and it confirms that I am connected. I cannot find any way to go to the apps no matter what I press and search. I turn it off and on and it always goes to channel 3. Hope you can tell me how to have it open to the WiFi only. I also do not see a search button to get more apps. I have several smart tv's in my home and motorhome and none of them are as complicated as this one.

My 2018 QLED 4K 75" tv came with remote you purchased from Amazon and not the one you received. Anywho, when I was watching something late at night on that tv. I could turn on the sleep timer with the smart hub showing on the bottom and the move or show I was watching was still on. I have now purchased a 2023 Neo QLED 4K, and I don't have that option. It takes me to the smart hub to change the settings. I noticed your screen was displaying the way my old tv did and wanted to know if there was a setting you usedmor if it came that wa.y

Can you tell me which Samsung tv has the ability to pause and resume? I want to buy the Samsung but I want to make sure I get the right one. I was told all the Samsungs have that feature. Idk. I'm use to my old Samsung that is not a smart tv. And I like that you can pause so you don't miss anything if you have to leave the room. I now have a vizio that will not do that and I don't like that. My first smart tv. So I'm wondering now if I even want one. I hope you can answer that question I'm willing to buy another tv just so I can have that feature. I like all the stuff you're showing about the Samsung.

How do you force it to go to an HDMI port. I have an older smart TV and sometimes it just loses the cable box (yes i still have cable). I also use streamig but it loses the cable feed and I can't get it to go back to it. I want to be abe to just tell it to go to HDMI1 or whichever.

I prefer it because it has fewer buttons. For all the services you mentioned there are no channel numbers, so the regular remote those don’t add value unless you have an antenna hooked up. But even so, I find it faster to use the smart remote for most tasks.

Just bought a 65" S95C (upgrade from a 15 yo 50" Plasma--:) All we get in Canada with the TV is the One Remote. Love it. Similar to the Apple TV Box Remote ( used & loved the A TV Box for 15 ish years). I played with the Samsung Apps - Not a Fan... At All

I watch KZfaq on my Samsung smart tv. I’ve figured out a lot of how to use the remote. When watching someone’s videos on KZfaq I often read the comments. The account owner will post a url to get to the next, or previous, video of the same day. But I don’t see anyway to select the url and go to it. I’ve been just going to the video on my iPad and clicking on that url. But I’d rather watch the vids on my tv. Am I out of luck?

The “last app” setting disables my TV’s ability to turn on my HDMI ARC-enabled Samsung Soundbar. If I turn off the setting, my Samsung Soundbar turns on and off with my TV.

The best thing about the smart remote is it is RF and not IR. that means you don’t have to pointed at the TV. In fact I can control my TV upstairs even if I’m downstairs because again it’s radio frequency it is not infrared

Apps never stay in their place order when I move them and sometimes completely disappear altogether until I add them again. Super annoying. Laslty it would be nice if there was a simple button to go to picture settings rather than through number pad, then color buttons, to finally have to scroll through settings. And there is no predictability for button pressing going to this menu because half the time the 123 will go straight to menu or color buttons or number buttons. This includes backing out of the menu which can easily mean exiting the app your watching. Picture quality is great on the Q90B but menu is horrible.

It depends on the tv you purchased. My 2018 QLED didn't. But my 2023 Neo QLED does have a backup option, which I was so glad to see.

My problem is when I turn on my TV and click on the source button of my remote, TV is displayed. I click on menu to change the source. I click on edit and move down to Hdmi. I enter and TV is still displayed as source. The hmdi cable is correctly installws. I have any clue how to change the source from TV to HMDI. Any clue how to fix this? It's a 2005 Samsung

Not a separate one like the main remote. But when I launch it, the Samsung guide along the bottom of the screen appears and I can easily change sources using that.

I found out how! The little circle in the middle ... If you press on the right side of the outer circle, it FF. If you press on the left side of the outer circle, it reminds! I didn't even realize you could press the outer circle. I knew the middle was "enter", but the outer circle has functions as well. Good luck!

My 'out of control 'S' acct' lead me to wanting to know what my Samsung Smart TV does, as I bought it in 2016 and clueless. You showed me that my remote is no longer the Samsung that came with the TV, but rather the remote with the logo of the account with the TV/Internet folks. I just click the link for the one you are talking about and it's $8 on amazon. Sadly I'm 81, and not tech savvy one bit, but I will find a way to get someone who is tech savvy to get me literally plugged in to what you are discussing and hopefully ditch the current vendor, who rhymes with 'pectrum' :-0 Thx a bunch. I'm hopeful

Hi how do I remove settings pop up without closing out of the app? Say I’m watching Netflix, go into settings, change settings, hit back - backs me out of the app. Then I have to go back and reload the app which takes forever. Thanks

After you change the settings, click the settings button again to dismiss it. That works on my TV. Let me know if it works for you. Also on my remote if I click a button like Volume up or down while in settings it will dismiss the settings menu.

My Samsung TV is 4 years old. Since I subscribe to cable I almost never use the Samsung TV streaming service. When I use the cable box to turn on the TV, it would always open with my FIOS cable screen. But recently, probably due to an update, it opens to Samsung TV streaming and I can't find a way to make it go back to the way it was. Any suggestions?

I just answered my own question. Under Smart TV Settings in the menu section I turned off auto-play for Samsung TV channels. That wasn't available in your video, but yours is from a year ago.
