Former Penguins head coach Michel Therrien goes on a rant.

This is an absolute classic. Coaching rants often have a couple of quotable moments and last maybe a minute or so...this is almost 4 minutes of solid gold from start to finish (of course aided by Therrien's accent). Epic

The Oilers and Leafs would really need a rant like this in 2021. The Pens were a similar team back then, a bunch of highly skilled young players who needed to be told how it was. Too bad Michel eventually was eventually chased out of Pittsburgh for this rant. One could say he could've won the cup that year instead of Dan Bylsma.

To this day, my oldest friends and I describe defensemen who don't apply the lumber in front of the net as Soffft. "I'm so disappoint ... about lots of guy. Very disappoint." Rings even truer for the Penguins today than it did in 2006 (after an uglier-than-sin loss to Edmonton, the 4th in a row, and the team well out of the playoff picture and dropping fast). Telling it like it is. It's like Chuck Noll in 1969 -- {paraphrasing} Most of you aren't good enough, and I'm gonna get rid of you.
