Hello Paul. They installed a pillar per se, it’s made from cement blocks, mortar and a stacked stone

Hey! Thanks for asking. It was installed using tools we had access to and the manual for the build. It wasn’t a difficult process for the most part and you should be fine trying to build this yourself!

Did the caps on the pergola feet come with the kit, or were those something that you or the homeowner fabricated and installed? We have a pergola from Hanso as well and have been looking for some sort of foot cap just like this one to cover the bolts!

Also - are the retractable sunshades and the side trellises from Hanso, or a different manufacturer? Thank you!

Hey, thanks for asking. Those were installed after with masonry block and veneer. We recommend you to build them the way we did or to use any retaining wall block, those will work perfectly for a pillar.
