Michigan football will face a dangerous and dynamic offense in Alabama at the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. U-M defensive coordinator Jesse Minter spoke at length about the matchup and how the Wolverines are preparing for the College Football Playoff.

UM has played zone a lot this year , and that’s the best plan of attack Vs Bama . Should be a fun match up

nobody gives minter enough credit for what the defense has accomplished; most assume that he's just continuing what macdonald started, but the defense that relied solely on edge pressure from hutchinson/ojabo and press coverage under macdonald is very different from what the defense does now. the scheme - as minter pointed out - starts with guys in the middle of the DL who can stuff the run. and they rotate so many DL's that the alabama OL shouldn't expect to be able to wear them down. they're a lot like alabama in that they want to force 3rd and long. this should be a good game.

Minter is an amazing DC. It’s going to be incredibly hard to replace him and Moore who inevitably are going to be taking next steps in their careers shortly. Time to get it done. Go Blue!

42-17 Bama Bama is hot right now Michigan would lose 3 games if they had Bama’s schedule Texas beats them Ole Miss beats them LSU beats them. You Michigan fans are so delusional. It’s like nothing I’ve seen before. They should do a case study on that,lol.

Ole Miss is garbage and LSU overrated. Put either of those teams in the Big Ten East in the cold winter months real football is meant to be played in and those two teams lose three or four games. Bama is great and if they win, not shocked, but quit selling the rest of the SEC. I’m tired of hearing Tennessee is this, Ole Miss is that, Missouri is …. That league is stacked at the top, and the best of that conference are the best in college, but Auburn ain’t much, ask Penn St.

⁠⁠⁠@@Sportsfanfromnowherefirst of all yeah LSU is bad this year because of their defense. You can have an explosive offense but you need at least an average defense to make it far. LSU didn’t have that. LSU had the number 1 offense in the country. They would drop 30 plus on all of the teams in the playoffs. I think SEC was good this year. Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Missouri were all good. Tennessee at times ehhh, if Tennessee had a good QB they would be great. Looking forward to Nico, his gonna be good for Tennessee. I think SEC/Big 10 was about even. Because Big 10 only had 4, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Iowa. Southern Football is just different. Playing in the SEC is just tough. It’s a tough conference.

Drew Allar couldn't hit the side of a barn with a tennis ball, but he was running all over that michigan defense before the bum fumbled. Then Kyle McCord has the mobility of a paraplegic. Those were the two best QBs michigan faced. Y'all gonna need more than Milton 2.0 on scout team to prepare for this game.

Milroe sucks in the intermediate passing game. That’s why all the talk has been on his legs. Drew Allar’s longest run was 11 yards that’s hardly running “all over” the defense.

@@Deanbedford1 Who said anything about long runs, the point is Allar was bowling that defense, out there looking like Chris Henry on those bums. But you wanna know what really sucks, those offenses michigan played. Out of the 130 ranked offenses michigan played IA (130), ECU (127), MSU (125), MN (122), RUT (120), NEB (116), BG (102) and IN (99). Half of their wins were against teams with an offense that was ranked in the bottom 14 of all the teams in football. Not impressed.
