No. PSU is 2-10 at OSU. If the defense is what I think it is from the spring and fall cam (thus far) then LOOK OUT. IT APPEARS the secondary has turned into a strength. If true, OSU will be a terror in 2023

I think Yes because they've strengthen their defense to beat Michigan and has potentially the best D in the big 10 from top to bottom and with Drew Allar the Offense should be more dynamic than it ever has.

He's good. But when he calls a game it would be nice if he doesn't feel compelled to be the smartest man in the, world. Instead of constantly pointing out mistakes and saying what ____ should have done, he should just explain what's happening/happened.

If JJ makes a meaningful improvement in his second year as the starter and if the offense moves closer to 45% pass from the 37% pass that it was last year, then I don’t see any way Michigan doesn’t at least make the Natty game, barring significant injuries. People don’t understand how filthy Michigan’s defense is going to be this year.

As a Penn St fan Joel is right. We are designed schematically to beat OSU. We don’t match up great with Michigan schemes but I think we will fair much better this year than last year with more experienced players on defense and a more talented QB

@@nickrindy477 Clifford wasn’t bad. But he wasn’t great either. He was very consistent in games that weren’t OSU/Michigan. Not putting all the blame on him but his ceiling just wasn’t super high.

Ohio State lost to Georgia by 1 point in the CFP and would've won that game if they had a better FG kicker. Since Georgia was the SEC champs, I think that proves the Buckeyes can hang with any team in the SEC.

I think OSU will change their offensive mentality! They will run the ball this year with three (3) high-caliber RBs! Michigan has two (2)! OSU may stop the run versus Michigan, if JJ gets hurt and one of the two (2) RBs is hurt! Michigan’s plan-B should be to develop K’lil Mullings, Benjamin Hall and Alex Orji as RBs 3,4, and 5! Then use Donovan Edwards in the flat and Coleston Loveland as primary receivers! Jack Tuttle can throw to RBs in the flat and TEs! Use the WRs as decoys and rub-route runners, until the defense sags, and then by the grace of God try to get one past them! This is only my opinion and you guys certainly may disagree or make valid points! Just sayin’!

You all really are getting this personnel thing way out of proportion. Michigan ran an offense that they never did when they faced PSU and there was no tape for a young D to watch. It was a great gameplan, and its different this season.

I think PSU could be 12-0, they probably have the best Defense in the big 10. They beefed up their defense along the LB's and DL to beat Michigan and with Drew Allar and their TE's, RB's and WR's will be tough for anyone to beat.

I think out of all 3 teams, the one that I think will struggle the most is Ohio State. I'm only saying this because we have no idea who their starter at QB will be, plus they have a brutal schedule from the Notre Dame game on. Other than Penn State, every other massive game of theirs is away from Columbus.

@@jeffreyleohner3247 On paper, they are better than Notre Dame. Michigan no. Penn State maybe, maybe not. For the Buckeyes, it'll come down to how their QB situation plays out. If they have found their next star QB. They'll make the playoff. If not, they must endure losing to Michigan again and probably Penn State. But thats just all speculation. We'll see how this plays out.

He’s the reason they kept it close in the second half. After those two pick six’s he gave up, he could have crumbled and they could have lost by more, but he didn’t. He came back threw 2 TD’s and ran for another, and almost won them the game. Defense just couldn’t get the necessary stops.

Jj true freshman that wasn't the starter at the beginning of the season, had shoulder surgery last off season and wasn't able to throw until fall? We'll be in pretty good shape at QB with a monster Oline to protect him. Penn State? Clifford had to win you guys games running, Allar won't match his production in that department, Clifford was your leading rusher in the UofM game.

To compare any team in the Big 10 to the depth and talent level of Michigan is ignorant and wishful thinking. It's up to Michigan to prove it, but no other team is close talent and depth wise. Not too many other teams in history had several backup O-linemen that will probably be drafted in the NFL.

Disagree to a point. NFL talent across all 3 is impressive. I think OSU and PSU probably have more 1st rounders than Michigan but that 7 o-line prediction, if true, is very impressive.

I agree with Joel most of the time, but I don't think JJ is proven yet at all. Michigan had a great running game but that was not JJ's doing. In all honesty, JJ was an average passer last year and really did fall apart particularly in the Play-Off semi-final. He has a lot of hype going into this season, but still has a lot to prove.

@@jackpackage4278 I agree that McCord did not have a great first start. I would have liked to see more of Devon Brown. It is a shame though that the last few years Michigan has had a "cakewalk" schedule until they play Penn State. ( I'm guessing it's pre-planned since it has happened 3 years in a row). JJ still hasn't proven anything yet. He did play well, but East Carolina is not any competition.

Naturally, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan are loaded. One thing most people are overlooking is the Ohio State defense. Too many people look at how the Buckeye's defense gave up late-scoring drives against Michigan and Georgia...Allow me to tell all of you, this Ohio State defense is going to be outstanding. Go on, laugh, mock, and throw out slurs. But this Ohio State team is loaded on both sides of the ball. Soft? Finesses? Better tighten your chin strap and put your mouth piece in. God bless, GO BUCKS!

I'm a diehard Michigan fan and I easily agree with you. Ohio St is stacked every year. I also believe Penn State is knocking at the door! Man, they're stacked and ready to unload this year! Gonna be fun no doubt..

I think their defense is solid this year. But I'm more interested in their Oline. Hearing that's been a concern from camp, it's not looking good

@@SR-hf3hx I will leave you with this, look at the talent that will be drafted off this team this year. Plus, look at all the 3-year starters. This is year 2 under the defensive coordinator, Jimmie Knowles. Coach Knowles fell on the sword instead of blaming any of his players. The guys love him for that. This team is on a mission. I wouldn't put it past Day, he needs to win some big games. For now he's in the same boat as Lincoln Riley a very good coach that will let you down when it means the most.

this dude is nuts. manny diaz took all the linebackers out of position against michigan last year because of zone blitzing and alignment issues. All PSU has to do is play man to man defense and read and react to the run. They'll house ichigan this year. Joal here just likes to hear himself talk.

@@gregschulte2953 how did that work out for Ohio state last year? That's exactly what they tried to do against Michigan and JJ burned them. PSU has better corners than Ohio, but MI WRs are a lot better than people think. They just don't typically put up huge numbers because of Michigan's game style. But leave them in man coverage while sending the house leaving your CBs alone, and there's 4 or 5 guys on this team that can/will make the big plays and JJ is more than capable of delivering. Dare them to beat u through the air, and they'll beat u through the air. Honestly, I hope that's what Penn State tries to do. Then when JJ throws for 300+ and 3+ tds, Ohio state is going to be lost trying to figure out how to defend them 2 weeks later.
