Riding and adventuring throughout Michigan's' Upper Peninsula. Includes Halfway Lake Cottages, Tahquamenon Falls, Oswald's Bear Ranch, Grand Marais, Lake Superior, Newberry and more. We rode from Newberry to Grand Marais starting at Pine Ridge Trail Head, also rode to Lake Superior and more. Great Scenery and off road trails.

Great video! We also stayed at Halfway Lake....August of 21, Nice spot and the owners were super! We will be in Grand Marais in a couple of weeks.

It has been a great time for sure. We are in the process of trying all the trail systems to see which one's we like best.

@@jasonbisalski There are so many for different reasons. For starting out I would say Saint Helen, extremely ATV/ORV friendly town and kind of a hub for going in many different directions (also offers a great 1200 acre scramble area). From Saint Helen you can go to Roscommon, Luzerne and Houghton Lake pretty easy. As far as really nice trail riding I must say I really like the Luzerne/Mio/Rose City area 50" and under trails. They are pretty wide considering and just a great time to ride on, also can hit a decent restaurant (Love Ma Deeters) along the way. A little bit more advanced but riding I love was the Black Mountain area in Cheboygan, the Bluffs restaurant on Black Lake was excellent! Still so many other awesome place where traffic is light like Wolverine and much of Cheboygan County (of course the UP is great but a bit longer drive for us).

For 50-inch trails, some of the best are Bummers Roost, Black Mountain, and Red Bridge in Cheboygan and Presque Isle counties. You should check out atvoffroad.net.

Great video. Thank you for sharing. I see in your later videos that you switched to the king quad from polaris. I have done the same this year. I'm hoping the king quad will perform as well as the polaris quads I've had over the years. The one thing I've noticed is that the power steering is less powerful on the suzuki, but I do like the engine braking better on the suzuki. Will be testing it out at wayne National Forest and the piaute trails in Utah this year. I can definitely see why you went to a better tire on your king quad. Happy trails

Thank you. The power steering on these is not as good as they were on the Polaris in our opinion also. They have been great so far, very reliable and easy to maintain along with being able to put the work in. You’re going to our dream spot this year in Utah! The tire has about 700-800 miles now (the newer one) and has made a huge difference for the better

I'll have to look into Adirondack Park, I hear New York also has some great riding. I've only rode in the UP of Michigan one time so far and was absolutely impressed once I got the hang of navigating it.

MI RE Adventures it’s absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately there are very few rides outside of private parks in which do rides twice a year in the Adirondacks. Extremely fun places to ride with amazing views. Michigan has some beautiful views for sure!

Did you go from Newberry to Grand Marais? If so what trail system did you take?

Yes we did, it’s a mix of trails and seasonal roads!

What kind of GPS do you use? Would like to make that trip to Grand Maris but afraid of getting lost.

Bought a Magellan TRX7 in 2016 (maybe 15 can't remember for sure now) and have had great luck with it so far. We always keep a paper map with us just in case but overall the satellite Magellan has always had a signal and worked well.

I enjoyed your video. It's a great place to ride, with great trails and awesome scenery! One thing I noticed, and I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I couldn't see any ORV permits on the back of your quads. You do know that you need those.......right? Maybe I just missed them!

Yea we went for a 3 day weekend and was amazing. Pretty much had the cabin resort to ourselves and just saw a few people here and there on the trails.

Just curious, How far to the Pine Ridge trailhead from the cottage . Sure is a pretty area.

I've got a 50" Maverick Trail side by side that's 10ft long. Did you encounter any really tight areas that could be problematic? I was surprised to see how open and wide the trails are. I didn't see anything in your footage to indicate that even a 60" wide machine would have issues, so I wonder why the trail is limited to 50"? I also noticed that the northern part of the Marquette to Manistique is limited to ATV/50" max -- have you ridden on that one?

You won't have many issues if you stay on the old non maintained county roads-- they seem like trails and are pretty easy to follow. Stop in the DNR office and they will give you right what you need pretty quick. There are some 50" or less trails and they can get real tight, I would advise not going on them with the Maverick. Will the newer rule changes opening things up you will have a great ride.

My buddy and i are planning to trailer our quads behind motorhomes this fall on our trip to the U.P. we plan on camping at Andrus Lake just north of Paradise. Have you ridden in that area? We would like to find the Crisp Point Lighthouse. Any suggestions on getting info? We are certainly open to suggestion. Thanks.

When we went on the weekend we did this video we stopped into the DNR office in Newberry. There happened to be one of the workers there is very knowledgeable on the riding in the area. It was a fantastic riding few days we had after getting info from him, not so much prior to as we didn't really know where we could ride and where we couldn't.

How many miles of trail are there near that area?

In that area you can ride the on maintained county roads as well as the trails. Those roads many times feel just like the trails so you have what seems like an endless amount of riding you can do in that area.
