Michigan and Louisville played a winner take all game 7 in the Louisville Regional in the 2022 College Baseball Season. The winner would advance to play Texas A&M in the Super Regionals.
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.
If you’re looking for a place that can educate you with commentary on top of high quality edits, this is the place for you! I’ve covered Baseball (MLB, NCAA, LLWS), Football (NFL, NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), Softball (NCAA), and much more!
I make my videos on the HP Spectre x360. I use Adobe Premiere Rush to edit, which allows me to commentate and efficiently splice up clips in a high quality way.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

As a lifelong UofL fan, I hate to see my team win on 2 “questionable” at best calls; the play at second, and then the strike 3 ruled a ball that led to a two-run homer with the next pitch. Damn

honestly, THANK YOU. it’s not louisville’s fault that they benefited from shitty umps, and they might have even won it in the bottom of the 9th if the calls had been correct in the 8th. but to see people blatantly ignoring and dismissing the calls really pisses me off.

As a UofM fan I totally agree with you Wooski. I hate to see plays that are verrrry questionable lead directly to my team's victory or a major advantage that lead to that victory. Going back to the 1998 Rose Bowl when M got a piece of the Natty....I hated the final run off of the clock when Leaf spiked the ball. The only saving grace was there was NO DOUBT that the only reason WSU was in position there was a blatant offensive pass interference call the ref didn't make. I mean the damn Zebra had pulled the flag out of his pocket & had it in his hand but didn't chuck it. Therefore I chalked it up to a makeup call.....not happy for it to go that way but seemed poetic justice. Regarding the baseball game I didn't see it live, and only caught a replay of the play at 2nd base. Disappointed with the call from what I could tell.
@wooski9022
@wooski9022 2 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminrei1319 I agree with everything you said. Sadly we’ll never know what could’ve happened because these umpires/refs have proven time & time again that they are incompetent, even with the best technology available. The call at 2nd was super close, but it did appear the tag was made, and I can totally see it being missed in real time but there’s zero excuse with replays and the tech available. Every base should have multiple angles available in HD, especially in these World Series games. But I’ll say Michigan surprised the heck out of me, and they have one of the best teams in the NCAA this year. They showed a ton of grit and determination to even make it a close game after the sloppy start they got off too, especially in a game 7 on the road. I’ll be looking for them to be up there with the best again next season. ** Also, as a UL fan, we’ve definitely seen our fair share of being on the other end of the ump/ref BS, and it just plain sucks. 2016 UL vs. Clemson in Death Valley on College Gameday definitely comes to mind lol. I’m still not over it tbh 😂

It might sound crazy but the angle of the replay doesn't help to overturn. It also looks like both his hands went up as the palm sliding against the ground, just a natural reaction. When the glove swipe came in, it probably hit his fingers or not. So it could be also the tag swipe going in between his hands but looks like it's hitting with the angle of the replay. The Cardinals also had 3 more outs to work with if needed. It sucks to lose all the same. Consider all the times the home plate umps make bad calls and none are ever reviewed. The weekend totals reveal a 39 to 15 run disparity. One call did not define this series.

@Louisville Cardinals Michigan has choked away at least 6 Frozen Fours since they last won a national title in 1998. The men's basketball team in national title games is 1-7. The softball team dominates the Big 10 only to choke in Big 10 Tournaments, and in the regionals and CWS. Don't get me started on the football team. Ranked them high and the next game, they crap their pants. It's incredible how they can't seem to get tough in the championship games.

@@Klopp619 I will admit the 2016 Ohio State football game Michigan did get screwed on that 4th down stop and in the 2013 basketball final, got screwed.on that clean Trey Burke block on Peyton Siva. However, Michigan has got to start winning the big games.

These games have to stop being decided by umpires, a good umpires name isn’t known. These guys want the show to be about them, I don’t know what could be done but it’s pretty unbelievable how bad it’s gotten. Most umpires are guys that couldn’t play the game at a high level themselves so there’s also resentment there. Crazy, if there was a way to remove umpires from the game I’d vote for that without second thought. Gutted for Michigan, coming from a Rutgers guy. They should be representing the big ten in the supers. Horrendous call, changed the momentum of the game.

I’m a Louisville fan but I will admit that call at 2nd base was questionable as to why it wasn’t overturned. I have to say though that was one HELL of a game Michigan. You fought all the way to the bitter end. No one can take away how hard you battled in that series against louisville. If Louisville had nothing but pitching Michigan would’ve slaughtered us (our pitching isn’t as good as our offense let’s face it)

The pitcher, by leaving the dirt, saved a strike three penalty for the batter stepping out of the box just before that 9th inning HR: "d. Batter’s-Box Rule. This rule is designed to speed up play by controlling the actions of the batter between pitches. 1) The batter must keep at least one foot in the batter’s box throughout the time at bat. Exceptions-A batter may leave the batter’s box but not the dirt area surrounding home plate when: a) The batter swings at a pitch. b) The batter is forced off balance or out of the box by the pitch. c) A member of either team requests and is granted time. d) A defensive player attempts a play on a runner at any base. e) A batter feints a bunt. f) A wild pitch or passed ball occurs. g) The pitcher leaves the dirt area of the pitching mound after receiving the ball. h) The catcher leaves the position to give defensive signals. PENALTY for (1)-If the batter intentionally leaves the batter’s box and delays play, and none of these exceptions applies, the plate umpire shall award a strike without the pitcher having to deliver the pitch. The ball is dead and no runners may advance." But do we have a penalty anyway because the batter left the dirt also?

They absolutely got the call wrong at 2nd, but even if he's out and Michigan gets off the field with a 2 run lead through 8, Louisville still shut them down in the 9th, Usher would still leadoff the 9th with a base hit, and Masterman would still hit the ball into orbit to tie it.

For all of you complaining here. It's a bang bang call that was called safe on the field. The view everyone is looking at is very zoomed in and grainy. Not surprised that they didn't overturn it. Louisville has been robbed twice in the post-season recently so stop crying. One was on a CLEARLY foul ball that was called a HR even after review that lost the game for them. Also, you were still up 2 runs and only needed 1 out in the 8th but you gave up a hit and then a mammoth HR. Once again, stop crying.
