The idea that this doesn't sound like Crue is not a bad thing. Motley hasn't exactly been making music that I have enjoyed for decades. Mick's album sounds very good compared to everything crue have done for a very long time. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the great singing and melodic nature of the songs. I think Paul Taylor's influence on the songs is pretty clear. He should have gone this route ten years ago. Maybe he'd have nailed down a solid lineup that could have done the big summer festivals and we could have had more Mars albums.

We dont know if he really co-wrote the songs. Maybe he just put his name on the writing credits, something that happens a lot for royalties reasons because he is not known to be a song writer really but you never know. Nice review, will buy it even if i would have liked more a classic hard rock album and then it would feel more a Mars album. Thankssss.

That’s true and it does happen. But in this case I do think he wrote them. Just based on comments from interviews.

I was just turning 11 years old In 1983 when shout at the devil came out and they hands down became my favorite band and sure they have made me scratch my head a few times but I’ve always remained loyal and I love what they stood for and they really didn’t give a fuck lol. I think when a band is together for a long period of time they are always going to release stuff that people don’t like. That’s just the facts of staying around for a long time. I’ll always follow them but damn those first two albums are still just killer

Jacob Bunton was also the vocalist for Lynam, definitely a band worth checking out. Wish Corabi's tracks were also included on the album. After waiting so long for the release, I wish they would put a little bit more into the packaging to make it more user friendly.

I think this album is excellent. I had no intention to listen, but said what the heck. Right Side of Wrong is just fantastic. Loyal to the Lie and Ain’t Going Back are also excellent. Ray (as usual) kills on the drums, but the star is the singer, Jacob Burton. I listened to this ten more x and glad I did.

Very fair review-i feel the same way, thought it would be blues. But I did listen through and enjoyed it-just not what I expected. Maybe MICKS:AM would be a better title.

It’s very modern sounding, but I like a lot of modern metal and hard rock do I’m good with that. It’s just surprising. I really dig the variety on this thing. That said, I don’t think every track meets the same standard. 7.5/10 for me. I really want to know what bullshit prevented the Corabi tracks from being included. I love that clear vinyl!

I HATE when they don’t put track listings on the back cover. I also hate how on vinyl records they almost make you guess which side is a and b. Have a good day. Thanks for the video.

Amen, lazy presentation. Put the tracks on the back insert not on the disc which is worthless when you're listening to the album! Also song LA Noir listed incorrectly as track 5 when it is obviously 10 and the last track. Not Mick's fault but get a better proofing and presentation process.

Ok…. Now I’ve gotten to watch the video…. Let me preface by this is the beauty of the subjectivity over music. What is hated by one is lived by another. The points that I don’t agree with is that from Day1 Mick has told us this wasn’t gonna be sounding anything like Motley. So from that point, that expectation fizzled away. I love Mick’s playing on it. Every song has a solo, except the piano one if I remember correctly. I love the vocals. I am ok with the two singers, I’m glad he didn’t go different guest singer on each song. Outside of that, keep listening to it. It will slot in my top20 for sure, but we still have what 10 months of releases to get through! Hah!!! Getting ready to spin it again! 🤘🤘 Oh wait, gotta watch the Ace video first…. Which I thought that was a really good record, too.

I’m really enjoying the album. Similar to the 1994 album it has gotten better to me with each listen. I do wish that Corabi was the lead singer but I do like Jacob Bunton. Looking forward to as many albums that Mick can come up. He was the real musical talent from Motley.

How long have we been waiting for this to materialize. How I missed the MM signature tone. When I listen to the album, I hear a continuation of MC94. So for me it's almost as much of a MC album as MC94.

Before I even dive into the record, I’m putting it out there, I love this record. From day1 Mick has said this is going to be heavier and different than Motley Crue and yet everyone still had the impression that they are gonna a hear Dr Feelgood. I liked the singles that were released. Not sure what the “all the ballads” comment was about. There is one ballad. I absolutely love the vocals. Has a lot of a Myles Kennedy-vibe. I think this record falls into the vein of a Sixx AM, maybe a bit of the Corabi era Crue, Saints of LA era Crue. Top to bottom, I didn’t hear one bad track, nothing filler. A couple of the tracks should be massive radio hits but terrestrial radio is garbage, so it won’t get the shine. I’m putting this in the 9/10 range only because it’s too short. Woulda loved two more songs.

Great video! I like this album overall, but don’t love it. It reminds me a lot of what Nikki Sixx has done with Sixx: A.M. Good modern hard rock. However, it’s not as good. The album lacks a unique sound or identity. The vocals are good usually, but nothing super memorable. Songs are good but don’t really have a catchy hook to keep you coming back. To sum it up; this album is good for 1 or 2 listens, but not much else in my book.

The singing on this album is very good. You can't really say that there's great singing on Ace's album. I think the playing on Ace's album is great but, lyrically it's too cheesy at times even for Ace. Constantly Cute? Nothing on Mick's album is as bad as that.
