My interview with Mr. Rooney was one of his final appearances, as it was conducted just one month before he passed. I'm so honoured to have had the chance to speak with him. Such a wonderful man. Take a look for it on my page.

3:18 Did you really just say that? ANDY Rooney?!! Seriously?!! How disrespectful. The dumb idiot was hardly paying any attention. If you're going to remember the life of one of the greatest actors in history, you should at least get some competent individuals with the smallest amount of respect for him to make the report.

Did anyone notice he says, "Andy Rooney, boy what a career." Why didn't they edit that? As far as I'm concerned Mickey Rooney is owed that much, after all did he not entertain us all flawlessly for umpteen years and then some? Here's to you Mr. Rooney, may you rest in peace!
@askauntb9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes, I must agree with you. I'd not thought of it from that perspective. At the same time, I am an Editor by fault, thus I can't understand when Professionals display unprofessional behavior. Even an "Oops" moment can & should be edited out. And then, just as I re-read what I'd written, I've come to the conclusion that it was a Live program. So, now I must learn to forgive-n-forget, lol!!

Anyone who knew Mickey know that he treated most people with contempt. He never appreciated anyone who helped him: he bit the hands that fed him. He drank and gambled and owed big money to ex-wives and in child support. He made stupid investments. Mickey literally publicly screamed in the faces of people who were trying to help him, sponsoring his failing tv program, lending him money to pay off gambling debts (to keep mobsters away), wives who believed in his lies, business partners who put their reputations on the line for him! People in Hollywood used to say of Mickey, “He’s nuts!”

I've also noticed that not a single TV news outlet has made a single reference to what is perhaps Rooney's most famous (and infamous) movie role, that of I.Y. Yunioshi in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961). Deemed by many as a racist stereotype of Asian people and a classic movie character by others, this role was probably excluded from mention due to fear of renewed controversy.

Far from perfect, lived the life of a king yet was a tax Dodger, unpaid taxes from the millions he spent on his lavish lifestyle were pulled back from the tax paying public. The Reason Americans pay high taxes are in part because of people like Roonie owning millions

MGM ripped him off. Didn't pay him like everyone else. Guys running the show business were power hungry, abusive,and controlling. Figured because he was young didn't need the money. So where did it go? In the pocket of MGM.
