Thank you for bringing this story to light. Mickey Rooney is such a big part of our memories; he was a child actor and acted until he just couldn't anymore. I am so sorry he had to go through that abuse, he certainly did not deserve that. It was so nice to hear his daughter telling what really happened. The people that abuse older people should go to jail; it happens too much. RIP Mickey Rooney, you will never be forgotten.

@evelynharber6077 4 жыл бұрын
@@lakeerie5857 The term "whore" is actually incorrect! A "whore is generally a female who gives her favours to any male. Now as Mr. Rooney isn't female then that negates him as a "whore "BUT his cheating behaviour makes him a "low-life" in my book anyway! His behaviour, unfortunately, is very common in Hollywood, well maybe the world over, and doesn't excuse him of anything. What happened to him in his "Golden Years" doesn't excuse his eighth wife and her son and if anything just shows that a "gold-digger" can sometimes succeed!

Abuse is NEVER acceptable!!!! Sounds like you are confused, 'Old school movie stars' were JUST as scandalous as today's actors, if not MORE so. Yesterday's celebrities had studio's cleaning up their mess unlike today. Actors can't hide much now due to the evolution of technology, nonconscious media, and sell outs of family members for$. Having class in Hollywood was an ILLUSION that was bought, not inate.

unfortunately, child abuse can lead to elder abuse. children who were abused are bitter and hurt, and they can do it to the elders who abused them. I know from my own sad experience. it began with abuse that was going on with me when I was a child, and never really ended. there is also a lot of mental abuse in some homes. and verbal abuse. and of course physical. I had all three. Wonderful!!!!!!! People are abusive animals. They seem to enjoy it. Turn to God and bible. Counselors can't forgive sins but they try. People need help in these areas. As for those who abuse elders but were not abused as children, I have no idea. I was raised around many older people and I loved them all and would never think of anyone abusing them. I can only speak from my own experience. Pain doesn't go away easily. just muddle through. Finally bible teaches children should respect their parents, and parents should not abuse their children.

He walked into his room and a orderly man had his father pinned by the neck up against the wall !! Well you can imagine what the son did !!! Then my mother in law was in a nursing home with cancer, her daughter went to see her at night and she was laying in urine from her neck down to her feet ! That was the first day she didn’t visit early !! Then my mother in her eighties was placed in a nursing home rehab because of a broken ankle. She was horrified and made me promise never to leave her in a place like that again !! She was treated cruelly , and neglected!! Hopefully things will change but personally I feel it never will !!

I'm sorry your family went thru that. Rehabs and nursing homes need to be regulated better. Me and mom went thru during the beginning of the year when my mom was in rehab due to a emergency hernia/colon/bowel surgery. She was verbally abuse and she had a gown thrown at her and not changed for hours. They let her hemoglobin get so low she had to go back and get a blood transfusion. They didn't wash her hair or her body except where her diaper was. I did it for her. They did this when I wasn't around I went 2 days in a row during the week and every other day. After she was out i reported them to the state we live in and medicare to go after them. I dont have money for a lawyer to sue them. I take care of her now. Doing better but still bedbound because of them.

I always knew there had to be more to the stories that were being told about Mickey from opportunists trying to make money off of him. Yes, no one is perfect but until you hear from all sides don't believe what your being told. Loved the interview with his daughter who poured her heart out concerning her father. This would make a great book for many reasons. Thank you both for sharing.

It's not wife abuse, it's more akin to child abuse. Many of the elderly, are physically weak and vulnerable just like children. Tragic. I never cared for Mickey Rooney, but he certainly didn't deserve abuse like that. For goodness sake may he R.I.P I also hope for peace for his children. Goodness. Their beloved Mother murdered and their father torn away and abused. People suck. That's why I am an animal person.

Suzie Paris I agree for me being a baby boomer I so enjoyed the movies and as time went on I found myself focused on the classic movies from mid 30’s thru mid 70’s. Also many people may not be familiar with the British movies from mid 30’s to the mid 50’s there are some excellent choices. Mickey was a MGM star as well as Judy Garland . They virtually grew up together. Unfortunately the studio system was very hard and stressful on all it’s stars and they both seemed never to have the inner happiness that one needs and their lives seemed to parallel each other.

I feel horrible for Kelly Rooney and her siblings! I know how she feels on a personal level. My Uncle stole my inheritance Jeff for me by my Dad. Then when my Dad got sick he never informed me, because he was afraid I'd find out what he was up too. All I got was a text with three words..."Your Dad's Dead" I'm glad my husband saw the text before I did and told me in a gentle way. Then showed me what was written. I never found out from my Uncle when the funeral was, what arrangements were being made, nothing! I found out by calling every mortuary in Owensboro, KY till I found my Dad. Luckily 24 hours before the funeral. I got there, talked to the funeral director. Wrote a late obituary for my Dad. Then talked to the Minister to change the service to include my family in the memorial. And what to say about my Dad's life. My Uncle was furious and didn't speak to me really. Instead he spent his time talking to my youngest brother in a corner, glaring at me. I was my Dad's 1st child, only girl and was extremely close to my Dad. My three much younger brothers hadn't spoken to my Dad since they were very small kids. They spent their childhood calling my step father , Dad and using his last name till they couldn't anymore, because they graduated high school! They stole my inheritance, his possessions which at one time all went to me and my kid's. The worst was that I wasn't there in the end for my Dad, I can't get that back! I hate them all for what they did!
