Dont be at all. Im 46 and just boight a fiat doblo. Ive no experience at all and on a really tight budget. I have a shit saw 1 size screw and a drill that runs out of charge quickly. I bought s £5 ebay futon and cheap plywood. The insulation cost the most. Once you get started, as a single female, you will be amazed the amout of people thst take interest and help out. Its bought be pride, freedom, grwat community tgat are also ensuring i and eating lots of home made soup, lol. It costs too much to cock up, spend time looking, planing, thinking, changing. Spend hours just inside and judging. Do it x

Hello Sara, like Victoria said just go for it! A bit of a tip for you if you don't know anyone who is able to check out the potential van, the AA do an inspection (I think it costs around £125 but that was a few years ago) and they will send a mechanic to check it over and tell you anything which needs doing. Any potential seller if confident should always be prepared to let you have someone check the vehicle over thoroughly if they have nothing to hide. I know the cost is a pain but if you're spending a considerable amount of money on the van then that additional expense could end up being offset in the future if you get something decent and reliable. I recently bought a Fiat Doblo and am living in it full time (it was already converted though). I'm lucky in that I'm an IMI mechanic so could check it over myself. At least for me, there was no introduction or trying it out; I just had to grab the bull by the horns and to some degree hope that it would work out. Still early days but so far am enjoying spending nights around Exmoor and Devon. I go home every few days for a shower etc.

You can pay up to £2.5k for an Amdro one! Or far less. We’ve used a company called MCS and it cost £810 with cushions. We would recommend them.

Rozi is not a rescue. I used to live in Budapest and got her from my life over there! She is an excellent dog, very intelligent, kind and exceptionally well behaved (after a lot of work and training). Pulik are an amazing breed but need a huge amount of attention and work. I recommend getting one if you have the time, energy and love. :)

@@lewiskelly2562 this is what I thougt: being livestock guardian dogs "they need a huge amount of time, energy and love" -the latter is no problem. I better stick with a "normal" rescue dog. How old is sweet Rozi? I am fascinated by the idea of doing a van conversion, traveling towards the south and finding my dog anywhere on the streets or in a shelter... How long did you live in your Berlingo at a time and would you choose this type of car if you had to do it again?

The bed is 176cm long which fits us perfect. The width is extended by the back rest making it about 90cm wide. It is tight but fits two people (and one dog at the front)
