What is Micro needling?
A tool is used to cause tiny punctures into the skin. The tiny micro-needles catalyse the skin’s own natural healing response and create ‘’micro-channels’’ for more depth absorption of Vitamin C. This produces collagen and elastin, resulting in a reduction of fine wrinkles/lines and an overall plumping effect. Micro needling can also help tackle other skin conditions such as scarring, pigmentation, acne and saggy skin.

Love your video, Trinny! Thanks for the loads of information that you packed into one video. I am assuming that you all did your actual micro-needling multiple times for the sake of the demos but you may want to caution your viewers of over doing the process, because you can actually reverse the production of collagen, instead you would produce collagenase, the enzyme that breaks down collagen. Thanks again for the fun and great video!

You are wonderful! I love your energy!! I just ordered the beauty bio glow pro & have been watching many videos on microneedling. I do have an inexpensive tool from amazon & have been using on my lips for a few days. I seem to be getting positive results. After 50 I noticed some very irritating vertical lines above my lips. I’ve never smoked so it makes me very upset to see them! Compared to some other tools for anti aging, the micro needling is very easy & quick. Easy for me to stick too!!

Hi Trinny...love your videos and enthusiasm! Please, please, please place more emphasis in properly cleaning, disinfecting and storing derma rollers! They are becoming more and more popular, but also causing increasing dermatological problems due to improper hygienic techniques. Particularly with any needle length that’s .5 or greater, the derma roller is breaking the skin barrier and leaving it highly susceptible to invasion by bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc. This cannot be stressed enough!

Trinny, I'm 37, but because I have very fair Irish skin (strawberry blonde hair), I've used sunscreen my entire life- hence having my skin. I'm just now looking into doing more skin care, and wanted your opinion on don't either a TCA or other type of light peel. Not of course anything higher than 10%. I was wondering what your thoughts were about peels and microneedling. Would you recommend starting with one first? Peel then microneedling a month or so later. Or Microneedling and then a peel a while later? I have a little bit of hyperpigmentation on either side of my forehead that was unfortunately caused from a very traumatic event and issues with my adrenal glands. It's getting better, but honestly, I hate it. It's not super noticeable, but I notice it and it bothers me. Anyhow, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you

I have lots of freckles and moles on my face as well as sebaceous hyperplasia, is it safe for me to use on my skin? I have large pores and acne scarring and fine lines so this sounds like this would be great for me however, because of the moles etc I'm not sure. Thanks xx

Off topic, do you have any recs for hair color that does not destroy hair? I'm using Hairprint, but it doesn't last long for me as I have so much grey. I recently started micro-needling and it made a difference in my frown lines in 2 weeks.

I have very sensitive skin with rosacea and I took very well to microneedling, I had no reactions or skin redness the next day. Everyone with sensitive skin is different but dont let having sensitive skin put you off.

Do you have an opinion about surgical stainless steel vs Titanium? So many conflicting recommendations on micro needling I use the gold bar with Japanese Tsubaki oil facial massage. Plumping is really mild swelling reaction to minor trauma

See I even noticed that you mentioned to clean the micro needling with something else. And some other people say to clean it with pure alcohol. I also noticed as well you used several creams and lotions after? Wow it doi affect your skin?

I am still trying to find a good dermaroller in Australia that is not terribly expensive, something like the Amazon dermaroller mentioned, we can’t get them here. Can anyone here help me please with a 0.2 needle in Australia as I have all my products ready to go and wish to get cracking. Ebay is full of nasty needles and Amazon Australia doesn’t stock any mentioned here or recommended in Amazon UK or USA. Thank you x

Thank you, Trinny x I have been searching 'affordable' rollers built to a 'professional standard' for home use recently, only to find that nearly all the rollers advertised on the Internet as 'affordable' are actually substandard. Also, 540 rollers are flat needle wheels, not round individual needles - and these wheel rollers should be avoided. If anyone can recommend quality rollers in sizes 0.25mm (product penertation) 0.50mm (wrinkles) and 1.00mm (ache scars) please advise X

Gin Amber is a youtuber who sells good quality titanium rollers. She has .25, 0.05 and 0.1 available, for around $30US. They're good; I've used them. just go to her youtube site and there will be a link there.

Maureen Bouey, I did see Gin Amber's videos - I believe she recommends replacing her rollers every 10 treatments, which would work out to be quite an expensive tool if using the 0.25 roller 2/3 times weekly (and there is shipping too), whereas Environ's 0.25 roller can be replaced annually. But it is an option x

Yes, she does recommend that. I'm guessing it's just to be extra cautious because I've never heard anyone else say that. I think it's a "Gin Amber" thing rather than her rollers specifically needing to be replaced more often than other rollers. Even Dr. Lance Setterfield, who literally wrote the book for other doctors and practitioners, allows for more usage than that. xo

you need to switch that gold tool on, no? it's a gold beauty bar? it needs to vibrate! I've got the exact same, love it, but it VIBRATES. You turn the lower end of it to the right, and bam, it's on. I'm pretty sure. please check the booklet of your kit, as well as check the tool :) I've been amazed by its effectiveness. Totally beyond my expectations. Irons my forehead, in particular, and it remains as smooth as satin for 24 hours easily.

All the derms say use a 0.5mm needle no more than once a fortnight. If u do more your skin is in a constant state of inflammation. It takes time for new collagen to form and if you interrupt that process your kinda going backwards

Considering trying micro needling. I've had keratosis pilaris on my face & neck for over 5 years now. I use glycolic products every few days which smoothes it somewhat, but it comes back full force in a day or 2. So, I need to try something else. There are hardly any people out there giving advice about facial keratosis p. It is so drying and ageing, it textures the skin so much!

Thank you for this tutorial. Your approach is very different from the Korean skincare that I have been learning about, and I have been loving their approach. I like to mix things up and I am more vigorous with my skin than that system suggests. Have you ever used at home micro current devices, like NuFace (Trinity pro, you should try it just for the name :) ) or Zip by Melanie Simon. Melanie Simon (facialst) has interesting thoughts on vitamin C, and is big on needling, but has a very strong opinion about how vitaminC works. Anyway, I wonder what your thoughts are on home devices.

Hello. I would like to try micro needling on my hands because they're very old looking and dry but sometimes I suffer with dermatitis . I've never tried anything like this before is there anything that you could recommend for me . Thank you so much love your videos x

We have the same hands I think?! I purchased a hyaluronic acid which I sadly didn’t get along with. Not wanting to waste it, I put several drops on the back of my hands followed by a moisturiser and that made a big difference. Thought I’d let you know in case you want to try something else before needling.
