Day 1 Highlights from Microsoft Build 2024
Satya Nadella kicked off the event, inspiring us with AI's potential. He discussed OpenAI collaboration, LLMs, SLMs (especially Phi3 models), and the extensibility of Microsoft 365 AI features. Microsoft builds platforms that enable others to innovate.
Copilots Everywhere
Microsoft is developing over 80 copilots/assistants, all supporting extensions and context sharing. These copilots are integrated across Windows, Edge, GitHub, and Microsoft 365 (including Teams, Visual Studio, and SharePoint).
GitHub Copilot and Extensibility
GitHub Copilot assists with coding, documentation, issue creation, and collaboration. It can be extended for greater functionality. Virtual agents and bots are making a comeback, with tools like Azure OpenAI, Azure DevOps, and AI Studio enhancing their capabilities. We’ve signed up for the private beta for GitHub Workspace Copilot builders!
On-Premise AI and Security
Microsoft is advancing on-premise AI with models like Phi-3 and tackling new security threats like prompt injection attacks and hallucination detection. GitHub's VP of Engineering shared that building our own Copilot is possible and exciting.
Microsoft Defenders
We explored various Microsoft Defender solutions for 365, networks, PCs, and Azure.
BMW and Azure
As a fan of BMW, I attended a session on their mobile journey, discovering the integration with Azure services.
Microsoft Teams Extensions
Teams is a focal point, enabling actions and interactions through chat interfaces. The demos were inspiring, showcasing the potential of Microsoft Graph APIs, third-party agents, and interactive agents. We aim to be part of this transformative story.
Day 2 Highlights from Microsoft Build 2024
Hi everybody! I decided to start my Day 2 of @Microsoft Build 2024 event with a 4 AM walk. There are so many 'zombies' in Downtown Seattle. It is really depressing, but it also is pretty nice at night, with rain and no people.
Today, there was a lot about Azure, data lakes, and other mysterious things. The thing I liked most is GitHub Workspaces Copilot. Looks magical. I signed up for the waiting list.
Building Copilots
We plan to build copilots for our website, documentation, and support. Azure AI models were another highlight, offering rapid selection capabilities.
Networking and Labs
We had fruitful discussions with the Microsoft Azure DevOps team and Teams ecosystem PMs. Participating in a lab to build a Microsoft Teams Copilot extension was a valuable experience.
Security and Feedback
GitHub Advanced Security impressed us with its ease of use, scanning for passwords and secrets in repositories. Feedback in Teams is an upcoming feature we’re excited to try.
Day 3 Highlights from Microsoft Build 2024
Microsoft Marketplace
The Microsoft Marketplace is excellent for business growth. Using Copilot extensions and the marketplace can help expand your business.
Azure AI Studio
Azure AI Studio offers vast possibilities for modern work. It's a powerful tool for partners looking to innovate.
GitHub Advanced Security Lab
The GitHub Advanced Security Lab is a top-notch resource. Key features include Code QL, secret scanners, dependencies, and push prevention.
Distinction between GitHub and ADO
GitHub and Azure DevOps (ADO) are distinct entities with unique features and strengths.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the event showcased amazing features and fostered connections with developers worldwide. We're excited to implement these insights at Move Work Forward. Stay tuned for more updates!
As for interesting meetings, we had excellent conversations with @MicrosoftAzure DevOps team again, @MicrosoftTeams ecosystem PMs, and Microsoft Teams extensibility PMs. Hope those connections will help us build crazy things in the future together ;)

We in MoveWorkForward have security as a top priority! That's why it was quite interesting to learn more about GitHub Advanced Security. This looks like a very cool, easy-to-use product. You enable a few things and it scans for passwords and secrets all your history. We will enable it in our repos as well.
Collecting user feedback is always a challenge, so Feedback in Teams is another cool upcoming feature. Can't wait to try it on our app ;)
Obviously, I could not put everything here, but the whole event and the upcoming features are amazing and I'm glad that MWF is in the first row.
We had the opportunity to meet many friendly and helpful developers from around the world. Everyone we spoke with was genuinely interested in providing assistance, guidance, and making valuable connections.
