The elite 2 is a great premium controller, but Scuf aims to make it even better with aftermarket thumbsticks and paddles both magnetized and designed specifically for the Elite series 2. I do love the patented rubber Scuf straps on their grips and sticks but it has been a while since I have used the words Scuf and "good paddles" in the same sentence. I will see if these 2 mods/upgrades warrant $20 a piece.

I am loving my Elite 2 controller I just wish the rubber grip was the same material as the series 1. I bought mine used with slight stick drift and highly recommend anyone who has any issues with joysticks to buy BW100 spray. It helped me clean three of my own Xbox controllers as well as five of my girlfriend's Playstation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers that had stick drift it cleared each and every one of them up.

I have stick drift on right stick, i’ll try that with my contact spray, do I have to open up the controller or spray against the edges of the base?

@@jimmyog if it's a regular controller take the cover off and pull off the thumb stick the Elite 2 you pull the cover off and unscrew the thumb sticks. Be careful though

I just picked up some of the Scuf paddles for my elite 2. I absolutely love them. I had a problem holding the stock paddles when playing games like Apex Legends. But I have no issues with the Scuf paddles. But my QC on my elite 2 was not great. LOL I have to rely on my paddles for my Lb and Rb buttons because mine stopped working all together. The stock paddles even blistered my middle fingers due to the top stock paddle not actually staying activated. Great review though. Appreciate the videos. 💯

My Scuff paddles have been sat in the box for months, worth a try but agree with you they sit too proud of the body for me, so close, yet so far, excuse the pun. Love your reviews as they cover everything, good and bad, keep up the great work. :)

You mentioned that you prefer the top paddles to be the SCUF paddles while the bottom paddles be the Xbox paddles and I also prefer this layout. As a compromise, since the upper SCUF paddles are not compatible with the lower Xbox paddles due to overlap, I took a Dremel rotary tool and shaved down the SCUF top paddles in order to prevent the overlap. I now have my perfect set up with being able to use my preferred paddle layout.

You can definitely flip them and have the perfect set up. That’s what I did. No dremel work needs to be done at all. I’m surprised more people haven’t picked up on this bc it’s the most comfortable back button set up in my opinion.

So I have these scuf upgrade paddles and I prefer it use it on my Elite 1 than Elite 2 because Elite 1 suits it more. And You can reverse the bottom paddle and switch them to the top. It kinda feel good.

these paddles are way better than the stock paddles, i like how they click, i love their feel (more reliable than stock), and i like their size. i have small hands and thin fingers. i guess it depends on your hands, but i am stuck using them and will never go back to the stock paddles.

I was considering them after seeing them on the SCUF website but now I'm not gonna waste my money! I recommend the Elite 2 to any controller player that wants paddles but not sure because of the price, it's well worth the money! BUT I do wish they had digital triggers but if you overclock you controller you'll get a great response time! Thanks for the information, great video as always!

@@terrajThe2nd Not at all! It makes the response time WAY better! Check out “Nameless” He’s a caster for the CDL and his video is the best by far very easy step by step instructions. Especially if it’s an Xbox controller. I think you need DS4 windows for SCUF controller’s not sure but check out his video! And always use your controller connected to the PC it cuts down on latency as well!

@@nismogurl i have them and actually like them, way over the stock paddles. they click better, seem more responsive, and are easier to access with your fingertips. i have smaller hands, maybe that has something to do with it!

I love my scuff thumbsticks I've had them for about 2 years and it's time to replace them unfortunately because I have worn the rubber off. I used to have an elite One controller and now I have an Elite 2 and I do this weird thing where instead of using the short paddles I use for large paddles because I find it more comfortable. And since two of the large paddles are upside down I actually find it a lot easier to use them

which are better if i only use my middle finger to reach both of the paddles? the stock or the scufs? One suggestion for your next videos, could you please always show us how it looks if we want to see how it looks if we only use one finger and not only with 4 fingers ? just like you always show in your newest reviews how overclockable the controllers are, i play since 10 years with scuf and i cant play 4 paddles with 4 fingers, i lose half of my grip and my aim suffers (big hands, cant also play with claw grip) and i know many people like me and thats why they really like the paddle design of the scuf impact or of the thrustmaster eswap x, because theyre designed to only use 2 fingers for 4 paddles, and thats IMO perfect because you can rest your fingers on the important ones (jump and prone) where every ms matters while in gunfights, and the not so important things like reloading or plating up are things what you do outside of gunfights

do you have any other elite series 2 thumbstick replacement ideas? The default short and wide ones I like but if they had some more grip on them I would like them as the best. The issue I keep reading with these scufs are that that last weeks and wither away. Just looking to get some more grip over all on the short concave wide ones.

Hey old posting this but do me a favor. Take the top paddles and switch them around so they face up rather than flush. It's by far the most comfortable paddle setup I've ever used on an elite controller.

Was looking to buy either scuff thumbsticks or the kontrolfreeks and just pop it on the stock elite thumbsticks and was wondering if throwing the extra money for the scuff paddles+thumbsticks or just going with the kontrol freeks as I have the concave kontrol freeks and was going to get some medium sized ones for apex as I'm playing on the stock elite series 2 with stock right tall stick and left small wide thumbsticks..... And I have to get something that will be more hand friendly and a little more "grippy" as I'm a old washed up tattoo artist with hands of a 80 year old woman who knit her entire life. Any suggestions or any guidance? Would be extremely appreciated

Flip upside down and cross/switch l/r of the bottom scuff paddles and put on top and put the factory ones back on the bottom .. pretty legit how I run mine

I absolutely love the scuff thumb sticks they are amazing I use the medium on the left and short on the right but I hate the domed I feel like it is harder to control and just doesn’t feel as comfortable. I have yet to get the scuff paddles but that’s next on my list

i still rock the Elite 1 controller on Xbox S/X and maintained it by upgrading and repairing whenever needed, newer xbox accessories don’t appeal to me as xbox parts are basically already perfect

The elite 2 is an amazing controller just make sure you get extended warranty I got 3 years for 30 an I've tried the scuf thumbsticks an the standard are better don't waste your money

Completely disagree the stock sticks don’t have enough surface area on the thumb now the 360 sticks it comes with are okay but are to short also the grip isn’t nearly as good as scuff. At the end of the day it’s personal preference.

@@sheffield8184 strange my hand slips off the elite 2 grips constantly I wonder why that is that some people think it’s the grippiest controller. for me it’s almost like gripping wet soap, when my hands sweat in the slightest. I’m definitely trying the new scuff, since they changed the paddles and now have mousy click switch on the fly triggers and swappable thumb sticks.

Bought one from Amazon refurbed. 125. Great controller looks and feels brand new. Only problem is the right bumper is iffy at best. Press straight on and it works fine. Press from the side or anywhere else and nothing

X Y A B need to be adjusted to be more sensitive - i don't have time to double click every button when I'm seconds from getting my ass handed to me the LB and RB sensitivity need to be decreased, i click it once but it registers as a double click - i try to swap to my shotgun and instead i get meds which is basically a death sentence while in combat

@@davidrudd4869 yeah, that’s a dead zone issue, you have to update the firmware. I say it’s better because: -Accessories: Xbox wins due to charging dock within carrying case, advanced trigger stops, 3 on-board profiles -Ergonomics: Razer wins due to easily accessible buttons when in use, but out-of-reach when not and more control since one finger directly to one paddle, no overlap -Design and Quality: Tie -Functionality: Razer wins with mechanical and fast buttons, less latency, and two extra, well placed button next to triggers, Xbox does have wireless with fast charge time, but razer doesn’t need to charge, better mechanical dpad -Aesthetics: Razer wins slightly due to RGB light strip that is highly customizable -Price: Wolverine V2 Chroma at 150$, Elite S2 at 180$, but is can be found discounted at 157$

@@Frosty_V0 thanks for the detailed reply man, I love the rgb and if I like the elite better I’m definitely going to miss the 2 extra buttons at the top they’re so helpful. I’ve changed my deadzones in the app and it still just feels off. Im looking forward to checking out the max tension setting on the elite. I picked it up with a 3 year warranty for cheaper than then v2 chroma from Best Buy with warranty. Also mechanical buttons are cool on v2 chroma but I don’t use them because I have them all mapped to the paddles

They do. I have kontrol freeks on top of the Scuf sticks. The paddles are decent too but like the vid said, they are a little tall.

I bought these paddles but unfortunately had to return them because when you charge the controller in the pouch like i do and the paddles been too far from the back plate it prevents it from charging.

Love the scuf paddles, they make my actuation easier and more consistent and over all better comfort. I prefer the raised design over the flush of the OEM paddles.

Yeah I just didn’t like those paddles. Pretty much for the same reason you’re talking about. I didn’t like how it wasn’t flush with the controller. The sticks on the other hand. I love those. So grippy. I feel like the tall stick that came with the controller is too tall

That’s exactly what I was thinking. The tall stick that comes with the Xbox Elite 2 does look freakishly tall, way taller than my tall domed stick I’ve gotten used to on my Scuf Vantage 2 controller. So I will definitely be buying these thumb sticks if and when I get the Xbox Elite 2. Or… I’ll be getting the Scuf Instinct Pro… haven’t decided. But leaning towards Xbox Elite 2!

@@StarKittens I really suggest getting through Best Buy if possible. You can buy the “two-year warranty” for an extra 20 or 30 bucks and it allows you to take it back in whenever you want and swap it out for a brand new one. Or even just get your money back. Lol that’s what I’ve been doing with the elite controllers because of all the quality issues that arise

Yea, I don't think you are right about the concave. One of the most beloved controllers, were the PS1 controller and it had convex/domed and I personally 100% PREFER domed thumbsticks. Concave thumbsticks just hurt the thumbs over time and they are annoying and you actually don't have the same finess in moving your thumb around, aka, you have less control than what would be your actual potential. I think it's good that both exists, people can choose what they want, but I would 100% always choose domed/convex and there for it annoys me that e.g in the elite series 2.. you get 1 small domed and not 1 long... so dumb.

Had every variant of elite series - I only play FPS games so kinda only relevant to those people - slightly smaller thumb sticks (height) than Xbox stock tall concave sticks are IMO perfect, with more surface area. From my hours and hours game time, it felt I had to adapt my grip to the stock ones and felt awkward. They are Greta for movement and vary precise although sometime I will aim past people. Why does no one offer tall or medium sticks with more surface area!

I've been using Kontrol Freek low-profile thumbsticks like the Omni on all my controllers for the last several years. They add minimal height while providing a lot more surface area. I can't play without them.

Unfortunately, there are still issues with stick drift out of the box. I bought a v2 this week, and had to exchange it for another which ended up having worse stick drift than the first one. It's luck of the draw if you get a quality controller. I'm going to return the second controller and try a different store, hopefully with better results..

That's weird I've had like 3 and no drift issues could be bad luck. I bought a 3 year warranty through Microsoft for $15 just in case

I don’t have stick drift either. Maybe tweak your dead zone. Remember deadzone settings are done in minimal amounts 2-3 numbers up or down then check in game. Not trying to be a butt hole, just giving tips. Do you squeeze your controller when you game?

There the same controller just the series 2 smaller everything but the buttons the grip is a little better you can literally use the series 2 paddles on the first one if you don’t want to upgrade an spend money just get the series 2 paddles

Higher anologs are proven to help, but I feel it depends if your fast or slow sensitivity player. I play max sensitivity on most games and think Higher the joystick the better for me. (To a extent) But for a slow sensitivity player it could feel like there pushing anologs too far making them slower to drag on targets. Basically its all personal preference.

The term is "convex" for the thumbsticks, not "domed".

It sucks how much money scuf has and how shit they are. I lucked out but I feel bad for everyone that has complete horror stories with customer service and quality. It’s not fair you spend 100-200 on a controller and the quality isn’t there.
