This classic enhancement is worth the price but Black Square's (sold by Just Flight) steam gauge enhancement for the Caravan is more impressive although it costs $8 more. Everything works in that one including the oxygen! The engine failures, etc. or located in the radar system. What makes the Caravan enhancement so unique is the KNS-80 radio which gives you the ability to make a virtual waypoint for landing guidance. This is RNAV before there was GPS. I've never seen that before. It also has the most extensive checklist I've ever seen. I sure like these enhancements. The King Air is next. Thanks for showing us how the autopilot works in the 172. Excellent video.

Got this a couple days ago when it first came out. Game changer, in that it changes the game to the most realistic experience in a simulator for this Cessna 172!👍

Good video. Just a few things to remember. The kap140 has other limitations in the flight manual supplement. It should NOT be used with an airspeed lower than 70 kts and 80 kts for approaches. The kap140 is useful; however, if you don’t monitor it, it will try to kill you. That’s what happened at 20 min, you didn’t change the climb rate to adjust for the speed and it just kept on trying to achieve that climb. In real life, you should have disengaged right at 70kts. That’s why you heard the lady say “trim in motion” that means that the autopilot is adjusting the trim wheel a significant amount. Usually in flight, I never ever want to hear that, and it’s meant to be an alert.

Did you know that if you make heavy landings, you can also end up collapsing the nose wheel gear and bend the prop?

14:54 - the shut off valve is in the original plane, but it is somewhat hidden behind a microphone cable so once you push it in, you dont see it. Looks like that cable is removed.

this was an Awesome video and review but before buying anything I will wait till SU 10 but no wait I just baught the Freedom Fox combo deal and it works great but the NXI can't select altitude or change the heading bug nor nearest airport which shows blank

Is there anyone who enhances the C172 flight model? This is the only plane I have real world experience in, and the default model needs a lot of work. Miss my A2A from P3D.

The developer just held a short session talking about it. The flight model is locked in by Asobo. However, SU10 makes a change in that, so you will see a change in that very shorty, ☺️

Autopilot isn't working right to me. You set VS to -200 and it still was climbing. You set and armed altitude to 5000 and yet it didn't descend. Some issues to work out before I buy.

D B, if you read the KAP 140 manual. They made the autopilot exactly like the manual says it works. That is the point. Make it study-level so real flight students can practice flows in the sim. I had a hard time at first. Think of the ALT button as a toggle for VS/AP. My fellow simmers in twitch group flys are finding it works great, once we figured it out with the manual.

Make sure you follow the procedures in the manual. The AP functions just like the one in real life and functions great in the sim

No changes to the default aircraft engine and prop sounds? How do you recharge a discharged battery (you said a restart - did that mean you have to reload the flight?) Thank you very much for your review and indeed for your cool videos!

you can pop one of the circuit breakers and it simulates having the charger in.

@@starflexthe2nd correct. the circuit breaker beside AP is labelled INOP. So they used that to charge the battery when parked and near a parking spot that can recharge. Hover on that circuit breaker while it charges to see the voltage, or once power is on, the 803 clock voltage shows correctly.

Anyone know if the flight model matches the real world? Are the V speeds accurate and matched to the RPM? Does the plane stall correctly, and at the proper speed? Does performance change with; Altitude? Density altitude? With atmospheric pressure? Will plug fouling reduce speed, or just RPM?

I was excited about this product initially but then I was reminded by one of my flying friends that it doesn't update the flight model or anything, correct?

They did update the flight model. They did their own tweaks and also enabled the new CFD (fluid dynamics) and propeller simulations, which was only done for the G1000 version thus far.

open doors requires access to the 3d model and the planes in the Deluxe and Premium packages are still encrypted so this is currently not doable. They want to but...

@@OverkillSimulations I don't understand.. why would you need to do that? In the real world, you would unfoul them by leaning out to lean of peak for a time (unless they were extremely fouled of course). Personally I don't really understand the value of this addon from what you show. It seems to have added a lot of stuff that you wouldn't get in the real world, it's video game content IMHO, I mean LED colors? Really? The state saving is good, but much of this seems like glitter to me.

@@wingandaprayer883 In fact the only way to unfoul the spark plugs with this add-on is to use the correct leaning procedure. The manual states explicitly that there is no shortcut by pressing on the Fouling item in the menu. The value of this addon is pretty clear to me: you have to follow real world procedures much more closely than with the default aircraft, with realistic consequences if you don't. You can underprime the engine, overprime and flood it, you can burn out the starter, the nose wheel collapses when you land too hard on it, the voltage runs out when you overstress the electrical system, which takes the outside air temperature into account for battery life, and they improved the flight model quite a bit as well. Stuff like the LCD color is just bonus, but this addon goes waaaay beyond that.

Clicking on the ADF window just tells you the state of the plugs only. There is no shortcut. You have to do the real world procedure to unfoul them

The Asobo 3d model is still encrypted so the dev team can't add directly to the model. There is a way of attaching new models to it but at the moment they are not able to be interacted with. They want to add things like a tablet and will do so when they can get into the model...

@@roland1332 From the MS forums: "The above stall/spin Video is the result of a enhanced Flight Modeling. The default C172s were overly stable, in both the stall & spin … (some might say, a little dumbed down for easier novice flying) The new 1.0.4 version of the WB-SIM C172 Classic, has far closer flying behavior to the RL Plane, as far as is possible by the current MSFS flight model simulation. (Thanks to some excellent Flight Model optimization by CCM 14 )"
