Yes. To Do is good. But try creating a Loop page. Add one or more Loop Task lists on it. Delegate work from the page. Individuals can see tasks delegated to them in Assigned To Me. The loop page is the Assigned By Me equivalent. Planner or To Do shared lists have an inherent flaw. Anyone can modify or delete any task.

Planned tab in To-Do is actually the one I use most. I use it for planning forward and staying on top of the work. I use it extensively for planning my week etc. I use due dates as the date I want to do the task on and Planned just roll in the pre-planned tasks to my day daily. :)

using Microsoft ToDo in my work account for the last 2 years. Smart Lists is a very useful idea. Now we can have multiple accounts (work, personal) in ToDo app. If one uses Samsung Smartphones, Microsoft ToDo integrates with Samsung Reminders well (2 way integration). Samsung reminders will show up in Task folder of Microsoft ToDo. Any Tasks we add with a date will show up in "Planned".

The "Planned" smart list is important as it gives you a "similar to calendar" view, not only from your Planner tasks but from any of your tasks that have a due date. This way you can know which are your due tasks, this week's tasks and future tasks, grouped by week.

Good educational video. Thanks. One mistake is made when talking about Planned category - there you have tasks not from Planner but "planned" which simply means they have a date.

I would like a comparison video. Maybe including some use cases? I do project work as a change manager and communication manager and a lot of my work is content generation (docs, posts, intranet, presentations) and research for same. My team also does event planning (town halls, offsites, etc.).

Doc, is OneNote a few away to track tasks? I want to be able to save or reference emails that have a task to do with them but the To Do tag seems to add more friction than convenience in OneNote. What are your thoughts?

I have tried ToDo for a short while and didn't like it as I can't assign tasks like I can from Outlook tasks. What if I don't want to create a shared task list and I just want to create 1 task and assign? This prevents me from switching to the newest version of Outlook desktop app as I only see the ToDo app and not Outlook task manager in the new version. Any suggestions?

Thanks @jeremydasneves6037 for the precise and candid feedback. Outlook Task delegation is the RIGHT way to delegate. To Do / Planner delegation is ineffective because anyone in the group can delete it. Sadly, this seems to be the definition of collaboration 🥺 Let us hope that the erstwhile Outlook lives long! Here is the current state: My work - Outlook Tasks / To Do Tasks Delegation - Outlook Desktop - Assign Tasks. Shared Task List - To Do / Planner (Practically useless because anyone can delete) Outlook-independent but accountable delegation - Loop Tasks. Ok I need direction. 1). I need a way to do stuff daily or they won’t get don’t cause I forget. I like to wake up and see what’s on the list for tonight the day and check off as complete, however they are same tasks week after week so don’t want to redo, example, Monday’s exercise, gardening, laundry, Tuesday gardening, dusting, Wednesday exercise, gardening, bathrooms,…you get my point, do you have video on this, 2). I have spreadsheet listing business tasks, so client name, what needs to be done, is it done,deadline etc, again this is daily and monthly I just switched to ms and am struggling with organizing stuff. I like to have one place to go to and I love check lists and knowing what needs to get done. I am finding the task list or todo in outlook. Sent working for me

The only thing that matters to me is: create a task and then drag it to calendar to block time. That unfortunately only works with task folder in outlook and not with ToDo App. 😢

Hi, you are mistaken, It works in Outlook but in this "new outlook" (right top corner you should have button to turn it on). Then there is a build-in panel with ToDo tasks and you simply drag a drop to calendar. I have discovered this like 3 days ago and its a game changer.

I can't find it in the New Outlook. To Do opens as a separate browser window. I am on the beta channel. New Outlook is under active development. So features keep changing. Earlier there was a Board view on the web version of Calendar. But is now deprecated. If you have a way to drag drop from To Do to calendar, it is great.

@@efficiency365 icon is on right top side, near the X for windows closing (icon looks like calendar with check mark), you open the ToDo, then you have by default calendar, choose ToDo. Then you have the list of tasks and can drag.

Hi. I need help! After watching your videos, I switched to Sharepoint Lists. Now I have to print my report with images and it won't let me. Please respond....Report due today and I have been researching how to do this without being a coder and I can't find any solution. When I print to pdf in the browser, it duplicates the prior 4 records from the previous page. I don't want to hate this, cause I love the way you teach.

Issues I had with To Do made me stop using it. Have these been resolved yet? To Do would remove items that were open for a long time even if not completed. To Do has the option for work and personal accounts but no way to move a list and it’s tasks from one account to another.

Phone app is not giving the option to/not to carry forward the completion status. I’ve checked setting but don’t see anything to turn off/on. Yes, my phone app is up to date. What am I missing?

When you copy a list, it asks if you want to retain completion status. This feature has been there for a year at least. I use Android. Have not checked with the iOs app. What do you use? Android or iOs?

Sir, please clarify converting emails into tasks...most often, when executing the task I need to refer to the email or reply to it, how can I do that if not dragging the email into calendar?

Drag drop mail to task. Right Drag Drop - means while dragging, keep pressing the RIGHT mouse button. You will get an option to MOVE as task. Now, the entire email is embedded in the task. When you finish and mark the task as complete, open it, the mail is inside it. Open the mail. Reply to it as usual and close the mail. Mail will remain as an attachment inside the task.

Yes. Go to Outlook on Desktop - File - Open and Export - Import / Export - Export to a file - Choose Task root folder or specific task list. All lists will be exported.

I still don’t have the create/convert to task option in my Outlook mobile iPhone app. I keep looking for it and it’s not there. I even removed Outlook mobile and reinstalled. Still not there. How can I get it?

I really don't know why. Could not find any specific documentation. I am using Android. It works fine. In the To Do app settings there is an option for Flagged emails conversion to Tasks. Enable that and try again. Let me know. Doc.
