I like the proactive approach of avoiding accidents. Not just relying on air Bags and seatbelts after it’s too late. Greatly looking forward to Microvision making our highways safer for travelers.

Very true! Though AFAIK, the implementation of the ADAS system is on the OEMs, what they get though is high quality 3D point cloud data (perhaps already processed, like in 2:55), a 3D representation of the cars surroundings. This is amazing already compared to the difficult obstacles that you'll be facing when relying on cameras only like Tesla. Hope some OEMs are aware of MVIS and they'll be able to strike up one or more deals, or will be bought as a whole.

Look closely at the LiDAR renders they are getting. It doesn't seem to have any real range. And, in addition to that, there are false positives. I'm not trying to bash the engineers here as it is not easy stuff to just pull that off, but I am very skeptical of this company being a long duration pump and dump. I don't see any real fundamental support. There is always some new hype about buyouts, or catchy words, or other weird social media campaigns. Just look at their stocktwits, it's like the pinnacle of meme bots. Seriously, LiDAR is pretty cool, I've done a lot of research in the area, and this seems very hyped and very shady. I caution everyone about this company. Let the bots and bagholders loose on me now, I have said enough...
@ethoslawnmaintenance54522 жыл бұрын
You've done a lot of research on Lidar, but are worried about the company with best in class tech being a pump and dump? Do you understand we are working in Germany demonstrating our tech to the luxury OEMs? Who are you dude? You obviously know nothing about lidar.

Wonderful, but I don't get a sense that anyone has lit a fire under their collective asses. Rather, I feel they're all very cushy, comfortable, relaxed, feel like they have all the time in the world, and are guaranteed job placements at other firms down the line with the experience they've gained. This still feels like an academic start-up they could very well turn into a P.O. Box the SEC sends letters wondering if they're still operating, while the shareholders later ask who owns the IP. I have little confidence this IP will not end up under some other company's branding with MicroVision shareholders who financed this stuff not being compensated. MicroVision needs to establish a track record of profit and ensuring they aren't succumbing to agency problems where employees & officers are just engaged in R&D for their own personal and third-party companies' benefits. Grow a pair. No more ridiculous NDAs with outside parties and paltry licensing compensation, and their own employees & officers need NDAs and non-compete clauses binding this IP and the expertise being germinated to MicroVision.
@gotohellpunk2 жыл бұрын
Amen
@Reticuli2 жыл бұрын
@@gotohellpunk You know what, perhaps the best course of action for MicroVision would be to treat their future innovations as trade secrets and stop farting around with patents & OEMs to exploit it. If you have trade secrets, your engineers and officers are legally not able to exploit anything the shareholders have funded to outside parties later. Then MicroVision could simply build their own branded products. This would be far more likely to reduce their tendency to be an R&D outlet for third-parties at low cost to those third-parties.
@partypooper81982 жыл бұрын
@@Reticuli all very well said. but they have no secrets. Microsoft got their tech for a great deal and there are dozens of competitors who use different architecture or design that can do exactly what microvision does. their lidar is nothing special, it THE SOFTWARE they are trying to sell. CEO has said their hardware is built from off the shelf components, very simple and anyone else can do it too. it's their IP, the software that is "so special.." which is a load of crap. so they offer a cheap off the shelf MEMS sensor with WORLD CHANGING SOFTWARE. meh.. I looked at what ouster was doing and was WAY more impressed.

this small cap exploded beyond wildest dream to 27$ and +2B market cap. MVIS cashed out and are working day and night to drag on this lidar. they have been delaying test unit sales for 12+ months. they will do everything in their power to drag on a +1$ price for as long as possible, wouldn't doubt they are insider trading as well.

You have to ask yourself, if the technology is so great, why isn't anyone acquiring them? It would take any tech company mere peanuts to buy them. Obviously, there is a reason.
@damoneymaker2 жыл бұрын
Tesla already has this technology. How would your company beat Tesla's technology?
@tbyrd20462 жыл бұрын
Watch the video. Cameras have trouble going light to dark or driving directly towards the sun. Also Tesla's camera only solution will be susceptible to optical illusions just like human eyes. LIDAR is actually making a 3D map of what's really there not just what it is interpreting It thinks it sees like Tesla does. More information=safer.
@partypooper81982 жыл бұрын
it's meant to compliment it. tesla doesn't really use range and velocity detection. lidar does this very reliably but it adds cost, design change, battery use. the tech has yet to really prove itself in both forms.
@jacobcastiglia8652 жыл бұрын
Tesla does not use LiDAR technology. You are incorrect. LiDAR is more reliable and advanced than the simple cameras that Tesla uses.

Much less resolution than the original videos.. Sorry, I'm not impressed. How much this adds to the vehicle cost? It looks more of a military product, not a civilian.
@Timmsh882 жыл бұрын
Nah, the resolution is very very good. You notice it with the objects far away, it's still very noticeable an object. I think you don't know what lidar is and confuse it with normal camera data. The product will be be around 500-800 dollars in cost.
@zevik842 жыл бұрын
@@Timmsh88 You don't know what I know. I know how the other firms resolution looks like, just similar. Maybe not at those speeds but as far as the resolution just the same. They showed once a "lidar" video, of insane resolution and it is not any near. Their biggest issue is not the resolution, it is their lidership.
@Timmsh882 жыл бұрын
@@zevik84 but they use a dynamic lidar system. With the object further away you get more clearity when an object is detected. And i dont understand. What firms have higher resolution? Because MVIS has one of the highest, with the highest frame rate and at a cheap cost. So if you are informed you should know right?
@zevik842 жыл бұрын
@@Timmsh88 I'm not saying it is all that bad, but it looks different that they previous presentations. The company is still have a way too high market cap, they sell Penney's. The real jump will be after a huge contract, and a big sales. not some fancy youtube video.
@fabianlongma70202 жыл бұрын
For those systems the raw data is not needed or "better". As a driver you won't see this kind of information. Instead I guess you can have camera view of needed. The Lidar is one tool, carmakers will make their own safety systems and include it. So MicroVision don't have to make it pretty and nice. They make it easy to use and easy to integrate. And for the optical lock, this clearly a test setup. Don't see the point complaining about this. To be honest, the size is very impressive. Must of the stuff is calibration and control. The lidar unit itself will be hidden inside the car.
