I have a phone app called Car Scanner that does most of the basic functions, like clearing codes but that little scanner looks like a nice addition for the toolbox. Good price too. Thanks for the review!

I got the BD310 to use for speed and rpm's displayed on a 10" Lenovo tablet because in my 2016 Class A motorhome, the Ford F53 gauges pre-Godzilla (which are much better) are damn near impossible to see in bright sunlit days. This device works great however the numbers are in orange, which of course is washed out in bright sunlight!! I cannot find anything anywhere about changing the fonts to black for the readout dashboard so now I have to squint to see the readout on the Lenovo tablet but I can at least still see it. Does anybody know how to change the font colors to something other than Ancel orange???

How does a computer controlled vehicle not have an Ambient air sensor? MAT only?

The car cannot tell what the air temp is outside. That is for the HVAC, not the engine. It _does_, however, have an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sender.

@@GregWellwood The Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans had an air temp sensor in the bumper. MAF sensors also include air temp too, right? I'm not in the mainstream auto service anymore, and probably just running on assumption. Thank you.

Does it tell you about fuel system, injectors,coils

It will tell you only what both the scan tool and the ECU agree to show you. Every vehicle is different.

Will it monitor transmission oil temp? That's the main reason i would like it, as my 2019 tundra does not have a trans oil cooler, not temp guage.

I have several vehicles that I want to reprogram the ECUs. What is your opinion of the best low cost units to consider? In example I want to reprogram the 99 GM ECU for a 6.5TD/4L80E being transplanted into an 86 vehicle.(RV) Other examples are reman ECUs for backups. Dodge, GM, etc.

I have used HP Tuners, TunerPro, and Tuner Studio only. I might not be the best source for variety.

I don't think it will; it doesn't really "talk" to the components, it just "looks."

Can this be left plugged in all the time (even when the car is parked)? If I'm driving and the car throws a code, does the code automatically appear on the screen? Or, do I have to initiate a scan after the CEL is lit?

You could; it will be a small draw on the battery. In "live stream" the code should show up, but I haven't tried to see if it will pop up on the read code screen right then and there.
