Although the Spring walleye run is undoubtedly the most popular time to target walleye in the St Clair, Detroit, and Saginaw Rivers it’s without question one of my personal favorite tomes is Winter.
Conditions are brutal and the crowds are smaller plus the bouties are just as plentiful.

Thanks a lot for stopping and watching! That is just a little piece of cut off plastic I put on the hook. Yes it helps hold the minnow and stinger hook on. Works great!

I run a 15ft leader or so. That way if I break off I can just re tie and not have to retie a leader. Thanks for watching!

Oh wow you got out there last Friday eh. I raced over to the Spillway right after work and tried fishing RIGHT as it was starting to rain/snow but the wind and waves were absolutely ridiculous, I lasted about 10 mins and gave up, went home and started dusting off the ice gear. I'm pulling the sled and trailer out from my parents tomorrow and will be launching out of Crocker Saturday morning and I'm just gonna camp out on LSC all weekend until Sunday evening. Wife's gonna be pissed that I'm commandeering her truck to pull the trailer but oh well lol.

We definitely beat the storm but it got windy on us around 11am ish so we got outta there. I’m trying to dust the ice gear off the best I can with what limited time I have but I think I’ll be ready by next week! Good luck and stay safe brother!

Some nice fish! And that is the 1st playoff win for the Detroit lions sense returning to the city of Detroit, plus that the 1st win sense the NFL change the divisional setup🙂 good to see the Detroit Lions get that W, and have a really good chance at getting another against the Buccaneers.

That a 17ft Lund. Perfect boat honestly for rivers and lakes like st Clair. I’m using 30# braid and a 12# floro leader. Pretty much my Swiss Army knife set up for a lot of species. Thanks for watching!

I don’t think all of our losses or hit and misses made the cut but I can agree it was close. I’m trying to focus in on dialing in the ice gear but work life is cramping my fishing life again

Seen a lot of Saginaw, Detroit, St. Clair River; jigging videos. Noticed nearly everyone of them videos, people were always using electric motors on the bow for keeping lines vertical. Would a 9 h.p. kicker on a 19' be too much/hard to control to keep lines vertical? Or is it just preference? Just wondering if I were now forced to purchase a Force Kraken, Minn-Kota, or Ghost (depending upon which fish finder I purchase)? Thanks

Thanks for stopping and watching! You could try to stay vertical with a kicker but it isn’t fun. My trolling motor quit on me once and I had to use my main motor as a last resort. I was able to do it but it was miserable.
