I found this vacuum sealer in the middle at Lidl about 4 months ago, and it's been sat in my cupboard ever since then, mainly because the instruction book isn't exactly clear on how to use it! I came across your really helpful video today, and it's made my life sooo much easier! Thank you so much for making a simple and easy to follow tutorial.

I'm just trying to get mine to work. As stated the instructions aren't very good. I've followed you to the letter but cannot get the vacuum part to do it's job.

@@peterbonnez You might be putting the plastic sleeve too far in past the vacuum part, or not far enough, or you have cut the sleeve too close to the food object so the vacuum can't seal it.

God bless you for your kind and thoughtful heart in sharing this. I bought the same product from Lidl and I came straight to KZfaq for setting up guidance instead of using the product manual. I bought lots of beetroots from M&S as they are currently on special offer, I have boiled 10 large beets, the next step will be to slice them up, vacuum seal them and then freeze them. I am truly grateful for your tutorial video which was very easy to follow. Thank you much 😃

Thank you for your brilliant demo on how to use the vacuum sealer. Have wanted one for ages as I freeze lots of food, most gets freezer burn. Found this today in the middle aisle at Lidl, it’s great and such a good price, have always found silver crest quite good.

Credit to this Creator 🏆🥇🥇 If like me you landed on this page confused with the manual how to operate the vacuum sealer, you’ve found the answer, no doubt having looked at the confusing handbook supplied by what looks like a Farrari maintenance manual. Don’t worry, you’re not alone, the book doesn’t help. This video explains simply how to use it. I’ve just successfully sealed 7 bags of batch cooking from watching this video. Thank you Creator I owe you a cup of tea 😂

No need to press the seal button, this works at the end of vacuuming automatically. Just use the seal button if you want to seal the bag with the air inside 😊

On my previous vacum sealer i damaged it by closing it shut for storage. Apparentley i should have left it open. Is this one the same ?.

Yes, it’s best to leave open so the rubber seals keep their plump shape and don’t get stuck together or flattened 😊

Nice review I bought the same one, but I already have to send it back… It’s not sealing like it suppose to. It only sucks the air out sometimes and when it stops it doesn’t seal

That’s a shame. Ours still works well. I’d return it for a refund or exchange. Lidl are very good at customer service.

Had to return this item back to Lidl as like in your video it lets air back in whilst its switches over to seal. @ 5:16

We agreed with your comment and noticed the slight return - we use mainly to freeze items so are satisfied with the performance

Mine lasted 4 years and finally stopped working three days ago. Now I'll have to wait until Lidl gets these machines back in stock. They are usually available up to three times a year. I could buy a different make, but I found the SilverCrest to be so reliable and easy to use that I want to stick with the brand if possible. I used my machine nearly every day, sometimes twice a day, and vac sealed easily 150 packets of smoked haddock (use one fillet, vac seal the second) over the 4 years. Plus English muffins, pork steaks, chicken drumsticks, and much more.

I often wash them and trim off the tatty pre sealed edges to reuse until it eventually becomes too small.

Mine does not suck the air out. It sounds the same i try to put the plastic bag in all kind of positions but it just does not suck. I guess it sucks in just the most common way.

I have one question and I would be grateful for an answer. After vacuuming the food before cooking, the device returns a small amount of air to the bag. Is that OK?

Hi, thanks for the question, I agree the device pulls tight but then relaxes ever so slightly when sealing, I recommend a test seal and see how it goes, we have had no issues and foodstuffs have lasted as long as expected, hope this hepls

Когда запаивается на замороженных продуктах, в видео, явно видно разгерметизация пакета после запайки. Ощущение, что насос выкачал всё, отключился, происходит пайка и в этот момент в пакет немного попадает воздух, т.к. насос уже выключился.

yes, a tiny bit of air flows back, same happens with the other vacuum sealers we have used, but it still works great at keeping food fresh.
