We tried to do Middle Sister but it's too early. The trail was dry at the first 4.5 km, then there were lots of snow starting at the 5 km mark. Some sections were packed that allowed us to walk on it without sinking, but most parts were slushy and melting. We tried to skip some parts by scrambling a little up the hill on the right side but farther down we found out that the snow gets deeper and deeper. When we faced the avalanche debris, just several meters away from that section scree section going to Big Sister-Middle Sister col, the snow gets deeper up to the chest. Because snow was melting and slushy, we decided not to continue and will try again in three weeks for the Part II.
