I own two of these and I'm about to buy a third. My house is 5.100 sf and 165 feet long on a single level in KY where the humidity gets crazy a few months out of the year. These have been life savers, honest to God. Easy to store in the winter and we just roll them out in the summer as needed. I haven't used the continuous drain feature yet because frankly I like to see how much water I'm dumping out of the bucket! LOL!

I just purchased this unit a few hours ago and already love the design and options. Unit started working right away in my crawl space area. Started with 62 % humidity , took it down to 50 % in a few hours. I'm using the bucketless option since my floor sump is close by . The wireless app is super cool too. Very impressed so far , great product !!!!

This is a very good design, and after doing quite a bit of research on dehumidifiers in general, as I am replacing a Whirlpool unit that lasted me since 1991, and also a Sears unit that ran from about 1973 till maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Upon unboxing, I was very very impressed with how well packed this machine was, banding straps to ensure everything stays together, and the overall quality of this machine is beyond belief. This video is done exceptionally well, and I will leaf though the instruction manual and then get this new machine up and running. Thanks for making such a well thought out product, along with this highly informative and easy to understand video.

@@MideaAmerica The first 20 hours or so have by far exceeded my expectations, 4 gallons within maybe 10 hours, then about 2.5 gallons over the next 8 or so. I'm at the point now where I can set the machine to a desired humidity level, and have it cycle nicely. Once again, outstanding product, and also of note this machine does not raise the inside temperture like my old one did.

To anyone having trouble getting the air filters out. You need to get enough traction to "lift" the tab out, pulling towards the front of the unit (the side where the console controls are located). I found I had to try to pull by pressing my finger hard against the side I wanted to pull it out towards, while trying to lift it out of its slot. It helped if I got a fingernail under it with my other hand to help pry it out. Once the filter tab/handle is out, it easy enough to pull out. This process would have been way easier if there was barest amount of a plastic lip to get your finger under to pull it out. Bad design on that part, but not a deal breaker.

I saw that many people have a lot of difficulty cleaning the filter due to pulling it out. the filters on mine are so tight fitting there is no fingers or hands strong enough to get them out without causing damage so I used a thin stiff guitar pick to help pry it out a bit so I could pull it the rest of the way. I guess any thin stiff enough tool could to the same but damage to the finish or worse breaking the plastic could happen so a guitar pick for me is perfect and just enough to get it started. One thing mentioned in the video is that the fill level doesn't operate while in pump mode. That seems very dangerous, and it could cause a big flood. Can you please add an emergency shutoff feature in case the pump fails or gets clogged and the bucket will overflow with water. You could do that via a firmware update or using the app. (Or did I misunderstand, and the bucket fill level feature which allows you to choose how far to fill the bucket before the unit shuts off, is unsupported during pump mode, which means that if the pump fails the unit will still shut off before flooding your space)
@MideaAmerica
@MideaAmerica Жыл бұрын
Hello, user-xw3qi3rf7c. This unit does not automatically stop while in pump mode, this is the whole purpose of it. So the unit can continuously drain without needing to empty the bucket every time, this is why the unit is equipped with a hose to redistribute any water generated directly to a drain. For example through a door, window, shower drain, etc. For any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at DigitalSupport@midea.com.

Also, I wonder if it turns off automatically. One way you could test this risk-free for the sake of our joint curiosity is by putting the unit in a shower or bath tub and running it with the condensation line taped inside the tub taped with duck tape in case it starts pumping at some point.

@@DanHolland1 I learned from others commenters that the pump doesn't kick in until the reservoir is almost full! This has solved my issue. You can monitor the water level either manually or via the app. I still haven't seen the pump working in real time but water is definitely being emptied out.

I love my Midea Cube dehumidifier, but I can't think of anything I've encountered with a product that is more difficult than the filter removal. It's interesting that, during this video, it cuts to it already in motion being pulled out. I'm relatively strong, but so far I've only been able to remove one filter for cleaning. Other than that, this product has been a life saver.

Note: I did the following when the bucket was full. (you don't want to dry run the pump). This is for the Midea cube dehumidifer: For those trying to figure out with the Models with built in pump (pump mode) to get the unit to pump out its own bucket: 1, remove the unit from the bucket. 2. Attach the included INlet hose, the one with the screen filter on the end and push in fitting on the other, align the fitting into its slots and twist it downward to lock in place. The inlet hose should point down when placed back on the bucket and rest on the bottom of the bucket, but before u put in back on the bucket, 3. Remove the small slide out panel on the back where the garden hose (large) and small 1/4" long hose outlet is, you will see where it separates, this will give you access to the 2 outlet connections. 4. Now put the unit back on its bucket. 5. Put the plug back on the larger garden hose connection, u dont need this in pump mode as the unit drains through the inlet hose (this is what worked for me). 6. Install the long 1/4 hose to the push-in connection (now that you have that access panel off). 7. start the unit up and put in pump mode.... NOTE: I did all this when the bucket was FULL, When the bucket is full, you'll notice 2 white squares kind of pop up and bobble around, thats the full sensor. When working 1st time you should hear a breif grinding noise as the pump comes on and primes itself, then in a couple of seconds water will come out the long 1/4" hose.

I have read the instructions. I watched videos. Is there a specific button i haven't pushed? How long should it take ro start draining uphill to a drain pipe? Is this too high? What functions pr dedired settings should be lit up? Will the bucket fill before it starts draining out the gray hose or is it diverted straight from the machine to the hose? I know it's me i just am unfamiliar with dehumidifiers. Thank you to anyone who replies. All info is greatly appreciated!

If my basement is divided into separate rooms, do I have to move the unit around? Or can I just leave it in one room and it will do the entire basement? In my basement I have the furnace room, a laundry room and a storage room, which are all unfinished. On the other side of the basement is a rec room, a games room, and a bedroom which are finished. my drain hole is in the furnace room across from the sump pump. If I put the unit in the furnace room, will it get the humidity out of the entire basement or do I need to move the unit around?

The manual says "If the unit stops unexpectedly due to power being cut, it will restart with the previous function setting (except bucketless mode) automatically when the power resumes." But in my experiments unplugging and replugging my 50pint cube (to simulate a power cut), the cube remains in bucketless mode through the restart. Can I rely on this behavior? Is the manual wrong?

Still confused. So if I have the humidifier on the bucket and have the drain line in with gravity draining, do I set it up like the bucket less mode where I press and hold the fill mode and up arrow? Also does the bucket fill if the drain were to somehow block?
@MideaAmerica
@MideaAmerica 25 күн бұрын
Thank you for your question, @AFpaleoCon. You can utilize gravity draining in two ways: with or without the bucket. If you opt for the bucket-less mode, you'll need to simultaneously press and hold the 'fill mode' and 'up arrow' buttons. In the event of a blockage or disconnection in the drain, the bucket will begin to fill with water. Have a great day!

@@MideaAmerica I appreciate the fast response! It seems to me like the tabs in the bucket are depressing button on the bottom of the unit preventing it from going into the draining mode when the unit is seated on the bucket. I cannot get the unit to change states when holding the up arrow and fill mode buttons when the unit is atop the bucket. Correct me if I'm wrong but is it not the purpose of the depressible grey tabs on the unit and the protrusions on the bucket to somehow set a mode of the unit? To summarize: My goal is to have the unit on the bucket, and draining using the gravity drain port into a pump already utilize that goes to the stack, but also have the bucket under the unit in case the pump failed and the unit would then start filling the bucket until it shuts itself off.

I just bought one of these, it is EXTREMELY heavy! It is also much, much larger than I expected. I read the dimensions before purchasing, but when it's in front of you in your (small) house, it is just massive. I bought this to keep on my first floor near the bedrooms and bathroom, as it's much more attractive than a traditional basement dehumidifier. It feels like it blocks half my hallway. Also, the bucket is about 5lbs empty, so it's going to be impossibly too heavy to lift high enough to dump when filled. I really wish someone would make something just like this, but half its size. I wouldn't care if it'd require more frequent emptying, just make it manageable. Also, unboxing was the biggest pain in my ass. Some genius at the factory taped the power cord to the bottom of the box. So I had to balance the component on my knee (there wasn't enough cord length available to set it down without toppling the whole thing), while pulling our the bucket with my free hand (which was attached to the bottom styrofoam that was wedged into the bottom), then pulling out all remaining contents so I could detach the cord & tubing anchored to the bottom. Nothing like pissing off a customer on their first impression. I haven't even plugged the damn thing up!

@@MideaAmerica hey, thank you for the quick reply! Unfortunately, that doesn’t sound right. The water is like 1/5 of the bucket. Plus, I followed this video to set up everything but I cannot enable the pump mode by pressing both the up and down button. I can hear a beep sound but the bump icon doesn’t show up. I have to enable the pump model via the app. However, since the water is in the bucket I don’t even think the pump mode is successfully activated. Is there a troubleshooting steps that I can follow? Thx!
@MideaAmerica
@MideaAmerica Ай бұрын
Thank you for your response. In PUMP MODE, it is normal for the bucket to fill with water. Once the bucket reaches its maximum capacity, the pump will activate. To make the PUMP icon appear, you need to hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at digitalsupport@midea.com. Have a fantastic day!

Mine equips with an integrated pump. At what water level the pump will be activated automatically? I am worried that the water maybe overflow
@MideaAmerica
@MideaAmerica Жыл бұрын
Hello, canadamoonriver. For the dehumidifier not to overflow, you need to set up the unit in bucketless mode with the pump or hose. It will not overflow since the unit is continuously draining.

@Midea America this does not reply a question. I have the same one. What activates the pump? And can I manually activate it? Or set, or at least know the level when it activates?
@MideaAmerica
@MideaAmerica Жыл бұрын
Hi, Sergei. The pump will activate usually around water level four. This is so the pump isn't running too frequently and to decrease any possibility of strain on the unit. Pump draining will have to be initiated manually by holding both the up and down arrows for three seconds.

How do I connect this to wifi? The instructions in the app ask to press the Air filter or Ion button, neither of which exist on my unit.

What happens when pressing the fan button for 3 seconds does NOT reset the filter indicator? My machine is nonfunctional because of this.

@@MideaAmerica I have the 50 pint and it's worked flawlessly for about a month. Now no matter what the app says the fill level is 87 percent. Deleted the dehumidifier and reconnected it and it's still the same. How does the humidifier read the water levels? Is there a port that needs to cleaned?

Can you use the dehumidifier without the bucket when in continuous mode?
@MideaAmerica
@MideaAmerica 9 ай бұрын
You can use bucketless mode which allows you to run the unit without the bucket in place. The included drain hose or a garden hose must be attached for proper bucketless mode operation. To activate bucketless mode, the following steps must be completed within three minutes of plugging the dehumidifier in. 1. Press and hold the up and fill level buttons for 3 seconds until the bucketless icon appears on the display 2. Ensure the dehumidifier is on flat level ground (free of debris) 3. Make sure the hose for bucketless mode does not rise above the connection point on the unit 4. Attempting to change the unit into bucketless mode while it is sitting on the bucket will have no effect. To remove the unit from bucketless mode, place the unit back on the bucket.

Hello. Can you make a video how to remove the air filter. After going through the comments I see I'm not the only one who can't get them out and I don't want to damage this unit I've been trying for 2 days now.

Hi, James! Thanks for your question. We do have a section of the video dedicated to filter removal. Please review the timestamp of 7:08 for more information. You'll need to pull up and then outward toward you to remove them. You can use gloves or some type of liner for a better grip as well if desired!

About the 7:00 minute point he removes the filter. You have to pull out (not easy to do, might want to use a credit card to pry it outwards) then slide out.

Hi David Blanchet. Thanks! The 2 removeable filters in the Midea Cube are curved to wrap around the back of unit. If you have trouble gripping the filters on either side, use grip pads to grasp. Reach us on Facebook at m.me/MideaAmerica for more help!

@@zefallafez Definitely not as easy as shown in the video, at least the first time. I used a small flat head screwdriver to pry the filter latch open.
