제가 답변 달아도 될까요? 제 생각에는(I think...) how 뒤에 it was가 생략된 것이 아닐까 하는 느낌이네요. 원문 찾아보니 아래와 같네요... 네가 이러이러 했을 때....그때가 어땠는지... 물어보는 것 같습니다. You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales. That fantasy of what your life would be like. White dress, Prince Charming that would carry you away to the castle on a hill. You lay in bed at night. You close your eyes and you have complete and utter faith. Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming…They were so close you could taste them but eventually you grow up one day, you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is, it’s hard to let go of that that fairy tale entirely because most people have faith that one day, they will open their eyes and it will all come true.

그냥 제 생각에는 you know how you believed in fairy tales.에 when you were a little kid and 가 붙었는데 how 다음에 when and 이 들어가서 익숙하지 않으신 것 같습니다. 보통 how를 어떻게,라고 하는데, 어떻게에는 어떠한 과정을 거쳐서,라는 의미도 있으니까, This is how it happened. 다음에는 과정이 나오죠. 영화 보면 This is how I ended up in prison.으로 시작해서 그 과정을 보여준달까
