Midland is a little bit different from most of the other areas around the licensing centers in Perth. Here we've got a lot of railway crossings, we have a lot of one-way streets where you simply can't make an error because taking the WRONG TURN would be an automatic fail. Also, we have a lot of multi-lane change and merging situations and they can take you on the highway occasionally. The assessor might take you to Roe highway where there are 90 kilometres an hour limits, but not for too long. You would exit shortly after you got on it and then go back towards the licensing centre. Usually, that's towards the end of the driving test. *The best idea is to explore the entire area, the speed limits, in particular, there are 40, 50, 60 even there's a spot with 30 kilometres an hour speed limit*

Today I passed my PDA at Midland, the Assessor was friendly, told him I was very nervous. He was very helpful and told me just to relax and chill. It's all normal. I took your advice, smooth casual talk etc., hehe! The test only went for 20-25mins. Exercise that we did was only left something behind and reverse/forward parking. I stalled the car 2-3 times, but was able to get back in track. After that went back to the licensing office and told me that I passed. Woohoo!! Thank you @DrivingSchoolWA..

If you start your test from behind the licensing centre, just be careful about the pedestrian crossing right before you get onto the road

Recently failed my PDA in Mirrabooka. I was driving for a good 15 minutes with no intention of stopping for any exercises. I was on a main road with 60km speedlimit. after the lights, there was no speed sign indicating what speed to go. I decided to stay at 50km until my assessor looked over to my speedometer to check the speedlimit. I though this was weird and must have been going to slow. I sped up to 56, then he asked me how fast I was going. I told him, and he said it was a 50 zone. I slowed down, and continued driving for another 10 minutes before taking me back to the driving centre. He asked if I knew why I failed, and then he said speeding. Many of my friends and examples on your videos show driving instructors giving "speed warnings" for going over/under. He failed me for it, marking it as a verbal intervention" which is was not he did not tell me to slow down, just that it was a 50 zone. The road I failed on had two lanes of traffic seperated by a middle section, with a coloured medium strip and trees. He also said himself included and many other experienced drivers would not know it was a 50 zone, as the only speed sign was on the opposite end of the road from where I was driving. I felt this was unfair. What do you think? He was an older man with a walking stick and long beard.

I passed in midland with ease not long ago, it’s a relatively easy driving route no matter where they take you

Failed my test twice in midland so far, first time I felt I did nothing wrong aside from moving (within my lane) around a car that was making a sudden turn, and the second for not giving way properly at a stop sign between the two one way roads (i thought i had right of way as i was waiting longer). Hopefully this will help for my next test tomorrow!!

This may be a silly question but, if using a private vehicle for the PDA, how is a centrally mounted hand brake defined? Mine is in the middle section but it’s slightly closer to the driver than the passenger due to cup holders, does that still count as a centrally mounted hand brake?

Hello, I have my test in rockingham on wednesday in the early morning, is there any advice you have for that area? or anything I should know about instructors? I am not familiar with the area as I will be driving around for a couple hours tommorow and before the test.

1:29 This zone is 30kms/hr. There is a sign near the round about saying 30 however there isn't one on the other side. So if you fail because of that you can complain and they will give you another go. This is not your fault, it's the council's fault. There should be a sign there.

If I stall in the test will I automatically fail? Also is parallel parking going to be tested?

Most of my friends says that you don’t have to do Reverse Parallel Park in Midland. Are you sure that I get tested to do Parallel Park?
