@@KankaWasTaken nah, not really, my 5600x runs the game at a flawless 60fps, without breaking a sweat (literally less than 25% utilization), and it’s pretty mid-tier as far as emulation goes. I’m more so surprised by the incredible frame pacing with 60fps, honestly I thought it was running at 120fps at first, but no, it’s just literally so flawless that it feels perfectly smooth, absolutely incredible for an emulator

@@KankaWasTaken that makes sense, PCSX2 is pretty single-threaded, and the 2700x is terrible when it comes to that. Having only 4 cores per CCX doesn’t help either (Zen 3 can have up to 8, I think). Basically first/second gen Ryzen are a worst-case scenario when it comes to CPU-limited emulation, unfortunately

I am happy that ryzen improved so much in their single core performance, but since many people still have a cpu at around my level I thought a disclaimer about it being quite demanding on the cpu is appropriate. Funnily enough, I can emulate the ps3/360 a lot better than the ps2 sometimes, such a quirky console to emulate

Just installing the 60fps patch only gives the game the potential to reach 60fps, and it only reaches it like 10% of the time, regardless of whether your fps counter says 60. To fix this you must put the EE cycle rate all the way to 300%, this will make the game run at a true 60fps 100% of the time, given you have a capable PC. It's a night and day difference in smoothness.

Midnight Club 3 was the series peak, no doubt about that but the early games always had this problem with the way it handled the collision physics. Midnight Club 3 is not as bad as 2 and no where near as bad as 1 in that regards. Even then though, it's still an overall great game with all it's qualities.

I don't know exactly how it works but Ruf and Gemballa are considered regular manufacturers and have their own vin (or something similar) on their cars instead of being just a tuning company. Gemballa Turbo Coupe and Ruf RGT for example are considered their own cars and not Porsche legally (but we know that they are essentially a souped up Porsche 911) I don't know if there's an equivalent company for Toyota cars though

No no no. Its not that they didn't get licenses for Ferrari's. Gemballa was a tuning company that imported exotics to japan, so they got the license of his tuned-up cars I think. (Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 for example also has gemballas, but it is tuned-up Porsches!)

For Gemballa, they are not "just" tuning Porsche cars. They basically brought most individual parts (body, engine, etc) from Porsche first, then build it up from the ground up with their own design and be considered a completely new vehicle with their own vin number as far as Porsche considers, even though it looks almost exactly like a normal Porsche. This is how Rockstar got their license. They can't just "licensing a tuned up Porsche".

I'm no expert but try a different render api. Switching to vulkan or opengl or something should work. If nothing else works, try software mode. Needs a better cpu, but it gets rid of all the imperfections.

I tried playing dub edition and there was a weird glitch where shadow would get burnt into the headlights. It wasn’t that annoying until I got to Detroit and the snow starting doing it also lol. Is there a good place to get a not jank version lol

Use Vulkan render. Or, just use software render. Most pc has enough horsepower for that, ut the resolution would be low.
