That viper i think is a Dice easter egg from midnight club 2

This is something I really like in Midnight club 3, these random events in races I remember testing my Cobalt in a race in Tokyo, before the timer got down I saw a truck crash into a Monte Carlo (or maybe it was a Taxi) before the race started, I even went to check it, and it's not the only event, you can usually see random sht happening during races and it's so fun Rockstar San Diego knew how to make this game feel alive around you

Imagine having an interview with the person who coded this race and it turns out it was just a mistake

Even as a kid was fairly certain that this red Viper that would randomly appear in races was a easter egg to Dice from MidnightClub 2. It just had to be because his Viper is based off this year model Viper and it's painted Red. The same color in his races. Only thing that confused me as a kid was why was his Viper black in the cutscenes but red in the game, but my guess probably because of a last minute change.They really need to bring this game back after GTA 6

The amount of times I’ve lost this race (when it first came out) and never noticed a random Viper cut in is crazy to me. Yet, the action and randomly barrel rolling from that ramp would make it easy to not notice the Viper cutting in! Pretty cool find my d00d

That is definitely a Dice easter egg from Midnight Club II. And considering the fact that San Diego is pretty close to Los Angeles, it could probably mean that Dice is having a break from the LA street scene and wanted to try something new like SD scene.

Crazy thing is we will never get another one of these because everything you can do in this game is possible in GTA V

Although the theory on the Viper being a MC2 reference is interesting, i think its simply just a leftover from MC3’s development, possibly from when R* were testing the game’s AI opponents

I remember this. All too well. Though, with my first encounter, it didn't stop beside the stadium. I remember playing this game on the PlayStation 2 console and I remember thoroughly enjoying both Midnight Club's II and III: Dub Edition Remix. There was a race (I can't remember the name, unfortunately. But it wasn't Rev Limit) where the red Viper would appear, alongside or ahead of me, and then finally stopping INSIDE the stadium (Because, if I remember correctly, you would take a short cut through there). But yeah, it would stop inside, not outside. And it was weird because when I tried to budge it, it wouldn't do anything. No wheels were spinning, no wheels turning, no burnouts. Nothing! Ramming does nothing! I rammed it so many times for the fun of it that I finally managed to flip it on its' roof...…nothing. I pushed it against the stadium walls to see what it would do....nothing. I pushed it outside into someplace else....nothing. Whatever I did, it wouldn't budge, but whenever I restarted the race, there it was racing alongside or ahead of me, and then stopping inside the stadium in the same place like it usually does. I think this was suppose to be content that got scrapped and one of the game's assets got left behind by one of the developers of the game from way back when, and now we're stuck with this "ghost car" (that's what I would call it as lol). It's weird to say the least, it would ONLY spawn in THAT race and nowhere else (I tried lol. It was only in that particular race). I wish there was more info about it, so that my mind can be at ease knowing the full truth. This "ghost car" hasn't sat well with me when I was a kid, and I could never understand why it would always do that. But that didn't deter me away from playing and replaying this game up until I gave up the PS2 alongside all the PS2 titles I've owned back then, including both the Midnight Club games. Anyways, that's my whole experience in a nutshell teehee :3

I have an interesting idea that they were filming an action scene with viper (since fast and furious theme was still pretty hot at the moment of developing the game) or even Dodge filming commercial and I think that would be a cool experience if they added some cameras around the map. Maybe it's just a guy, showing off his new viper. If I'm not mistaken this game has other races where random cars join your race? It creates some sense of life around you, that you're not the only one who is racing in the city

Its been over a decade since I last played this game, but there's something I remember about these scripted NPC traffic cars: There is a low-poly blue Chevy Monte Carlo that appears driving in a street in front of you at the starting line, I don't exactly remember the city but I thinks Detroit because the starting point of that race was on a ghetto-looking neighborhood. The reason why I remember that Monte Carlo is because thats the only instance that I remember it ever spawning being driven by a NPC.

The GTS-R in MC3 was rendered incorrectly unfortunately.

I haven't seen the video yet, but many years ago I wanted to research this car on KZfaq but there weren't many videos about it The Red Viper only appears when you make the jump for that race, I also saw it in cruise mode but it was more luck than reason, its script must have been copied from the original run where he appears in other scenes (race, cruise mode). Btw, I saw this bug in the PSP version, I don't know if it appears in other versions.
