MC2 definitely had more technical and challenging races. Go through the career on the hardest difficulty. Savo is going to be impossible.

Emolga Yes, I think they've decreased over sequels. MC 2 was great, MC 3 was good, but not as challenging as MC2. Just let's not start with MC LA. It sucks.

I agree with you! MC3 is the best! But never played number 2... Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 is a difficult game... the cops are relentless! NFSHP2 is the only good game NFS has ever made...

I used to play the heck out of MC2 when I was a younger kid. But, whenever I got to Makoto, I would stop playing and make a new file. I was really afraid to do final bosses in any game back then. Don't ask me why but, I was. I remember my first time I beat Savo on my dad's file. I was so happy I beat him that I was literally jumping up and down in my seat. Such good memories from such a good game in it's time.

That's the rockstar san diego's ideology for a racing game...make it so difficult that you have to literally feel the soul of the entire track...and when you finally beat it, it feels like you've just won an actual trophy...not like nfs where we can simply cruise through races in normal difficulty...

To me: this is kinda similar to that one mode in MCLA to where they put all these checkpoints and shuffle them around everywhere.

I really wish they had the epic music and the great cutscenes with racers who actually talked to you during the game as well in MC3... that was what was really lacking in MC3 in my opinion... MC2 is still my favourite Midnight Club game to this day...

Given the idea of MC3 was building your own dream racing machine rather than just winning and upgrading, not to mention that there are many more racers in MC3 than in MC2, building backstories for every single character when the point was moot to begin with, would of been time consuming. I do agree, to a point that there should of been more interaction between each racer and the player, maybe just via voice acting instead of videos for each of the 100+ racers in MC3 (that counts for both the standard and Remix versions of the game), but even then, since you're not winning a vehicle for every race event or by beating a racer (most of the time you unlock performance or stylizing parts or vehicle classes though in Tokyo all you do is win exclusive vehicles), it does make me wonder if it would be worth the trouble. I dunno. To each, their own.

i loved this game such a classic. multiplayer races around the highway on motorcycles was the best. there are so many places to meet other players and race around neighborhoods. i wish i had my ps2 just to play this game online. this game is a gem.

@Quiel Evolution Gameplays The video title is literally "Midnight Club II: DUB Edition" which if you read correctly has a two in it not a three... don't know what else he really needed to put tbh... the title definitely matches the video in my opinion as he has edited the cutscenes in and remade the races from MC2 into MC3 which is why the title of the video is named "Midnight Club II: DUB Edition"... also the description of the video explains it all as well...

I think it is as well... here are some examples of why I think it is better than MC3: Music, AI, Atmosphere, Races, Characters etc... that's just some of the things that I find better in MC2 compared to MC3... I mean MC3 did have real life licensed cars as well as customization but that still didn't make it the better game in my opinion and at the end of the day I didn't care much for those things anyway... also you could run down pedestrians on MC2 which you could not do in MC3 due to them introducing real life licensed cars into the game...

The reason why you can't mow down pedestrians in MC3 is because the ESRB changed their policies on fantasy violence between the two games (having that mechanic would of increased the rating); for the record, the code for having pedestrians being physical objects that can be moved by the player, like smaller inanimate objects, is still there, just altered. I don't think MC2 or MC3 are comparable, to be fair; they're two completely different experiences in the same franchise. It's like trying to compare the Ridge Racer games (excluding Unbounded) to a game series like Forza/Gran Turismo, or NFS to Road Rash; you just don't as there is no comparison. MC L.A. is the one game from what I've seen that tries to mesh MC2 and MC3 together (I've not had the privilege of playing that particular game as of yet).

MC2 & MC3 were much better and more fun in my opinion... in MCLA the car mechanics were to realistic compared to the previous games which kinda put me off and also I wasn't a big fan of the story/characters in MCLA as well...

@@unnderneath I actually have nothing against realistic racing games as I actually don't mind them but tbh I do prefer arcade style racing as I find it more fun to play most of the time... also moving from the arcade style type of racing of the previous MC games to the more realistic style type of racing in MCLA just felt to jarring to me and that's what put me off the most tbh...

(like if ya get the reference lol) 11:00 lolz 'FLIRT' (sounds more like Gina's thing) 15:50 lol 'PLAYA' 21:45 Quite possibly my favorite Tokyo opponent. *_HAJIME!!!_* 26:01 GINA DOESN'T OWE YOU A FUCKING THING, YA JERK!!!! lol 26:04 lol McLaren F1 LM (I guess making the Supra look more like the actual MC2 vehicle was out of the question) 30:50 lolz 'SPEEDDEMON' (it's a shame one cannot recreate the timed races in MC3 though) 38:20 'INDIFFERENT' lol (a little too real) The mission where Ken'ichi has you driving a police car to stop other racers, I'd of loved to seen more of that in the MC series, but since it is very much like Top Cop from the NFS Hot Pursuit games, maybe it wasn't the best idea to have more of such. I also missed having timed races in MC3, being able to recreate them, etcetera (I'm aware of the Arcade game mode that emulates the experience). It was cool to have races longer than four laps, and the ability to place checkpoints wherever you damn well wanted, and then there's the City Track races too (the editor should of had that as an option as well), which brings back the tarmac circuit vibe I absolutely love in racing games. We were supposed to get PC ports of the first three MC games, but we only got one. The series is commercially dead, and that's a shame.

i hate midnigh t club LA cus they ruined it for me that they put cops around when you cruise to find racers cus you can easily get your money taken away by getting busted
