Everything is wired up, tuned and playing finally! After driving around a little and listening to it, i need to make more changes. Nothing too drastic. Also, this thing needs sound deadener on the roof and the hatch very badly. We will work on that soon. Hoping not to have to pull the box out to do it. It is a HUGE headliner in the GMC Yukon XL! If you are wondering why i didn't do it in the first place, it's because i usually like to play the system and see where the problems are and THEN address them. I knew the roof was going to be a problem but i didn't realize it would be flexing as hard as it does. So we have more work to do! Stay "tuned" for more!
Don't forget to watch the previous video's to see the massive 24" Sundown subwoofers and huge DC Audio amp rack that is powering this system. It's a fun build! Thanks for watching if you did.
So far this is what we have:
Headunit: Pionner AVH-W4500NEX double din
DM-810 Processor by Audiocontrol www.audiocontro...
Alternator Mechman 400 amp elite series www.mechman.com
3 Titan 8 Lithium Batteries www.4xspower.com
Amplifiers: DC Audio 7.5K and now (2) DC 90.4 www.dcsoundlab.com
Subs: Sundown Audio 24" ZV5 (in the Skelator box) www.sundownaudio.com
2 sets Mids/highs: Skyhigh Car Audio Neo 3 way components www.skyhighcara...
Power and speaker Wire www.skyhighcara...
Second Skin Sound Deadener www.secondskina...

Somewhere in the video i said "21 inch subs" 🤦‍♂️.....i have no idea where that came from but these are 24" Sundown ZV5 Subwoofers. The mids and highs are sounding pretty good but i really only did gains, crossovers and BASIC RTA tuning so far. I have more to do to make it sound even better. Small changes will be made as the day's go by. It's part of the process! Also, some Second Skin sound deadener is badly needed for the roof and the hatch. They flex so bad, as i figured they would...we just need to pull the gigantic headliner down and hit it with a few layers. It will DRASTICALLY improve the bass. 🔊🔊 It sounds good already but it can all be better. Thanks for watching if you did!

Open Question: I feel dumb asking it, because I believe it is a lost cause, but screw it. Here goes: Can you put the big 3 in late model GM cars and trucks with a 6.2 liter gas powered engine? I have a 2019 Camaro 2SS and a 2022 Silverado 1500 LTZ. Both have the Bose system.
@Hectoriousz
@Hectoriousz Жыл бұрын
Why not? All the big 3 is improving what’s already there. Battery already had a ground your just improving it by adding more with a fatter cable same for the power from the alternator to the battery your improving the connection. It hurts nothing
@tiny3669
@tiny3669 Жыл бұрын
I added a dual alternator bracket and installed a ds18 adjustable highout put alternator with 3 batteries dedicated to the audio only. I've owned several gm trucks and they all seem to have electrical issues so that's why I made a dedicated charging system fir the audio only. Something you may want to consider. It's not that much more and you won't have to worry about warranty issues.

he doesn't mind at all. I know him personally. It's not that simple though. It will still get flagged quick unless my channel is "white listed" for the song i am trying to use. He has thousands of songs over almost 4 decades and not all of them are from the same label (or management etc). Even then, you can use some beat you made in 5 minutes on Fruity Loops and the way youtube is, you can still get flagged. For your own shit. lol. I have verbal permission from lots of my favorite artists but again, it is more complicated than that.

I have a question. If distorted signal from a amp or from a head unit can damage speakers can music that is distorted on purpose do the same?
@meade916
@meade916 Жыл бұрын
distorted signal doesn't damage speakers. It just sounds bad. A clipped signal doesn't damage speakers either, it also just sounds bad...but clipping can also put almost double the "dirty" power from the amp into the speaker which actually does the damage.
@RYTHMICRIOT
@RYTHMICRIOT Жыл бұрын
Not really. They are not the same thing. Distortion is not coming from your music signal. Distortion is electrical interference generally caused by your amp/headunit operating outside of its tolerance.
@mebordernoneya8484
@mebordernoneya8484 Жыл бұрын
So what about this “re-bass” music that is remixed with clipped bass tones? I’ve always wondered if that clipped recording could do the same damage that an overdriven amp can cause. Clipping from an over driven amp turns a sine wave into a square wave. Playing square waves though speakers is bad on a couple levels, but what happens when the music is recorded that way and then played at high levels?
@meade916
@meade916 Жыл бұрын
@@RYTHMICRIOT actually it can come from the signal too. I can send you a file right now with 2% distortion in it (one of my test tracks). So what you said is only partially true.

I mean no disrespect, but do you have any versions of the DD1 or anything that are a little more budget friendly? The tech is awesome, but to spend $200 on something I'll use 4 times in my life seems a bit much. Shops want $50 to tune a system. I'm suggesting maybe a $40 item that can just set gains, and do nothing else? Just a thought/ question. Love your stuff. Bass on a budget is a pain. I'm maybe $1000 into my system. To spend the same on a tuner as I did for my amp is out of my budget.
@meade916
@meade916 Жыл бұрын
the DD-1 is budget friendly. It's cheaper than it should be. We live in a world where people flip burgers for $16 bucks an hour at Mickey D's so yesterday's prices for sure aren't today's prices. I suggest you spend the 50 bucks at the local shop, and that is assuming they do it correctly.
