Yes it is. And it even has cats occasionally thrown in, to get your blood pressure down again during some reviews.....they literally saved me in the review of" the Antichrist" ...or was it another one ? Anyway, they literally help save your sanity in some cases....and I think I'm not the only one loving to see his cats.... Edit: my mind tried to bury it ...it was "the human centipede - series" when I needed help the most....and got it! In the form of a black and white cat. My saviour. I bow down to you kitty- cat. I owe you a lot.. Edit; the human centipede was another one I wouldn't have survived without the cats.

@@twenty-oneflightattendants7435 Oh of course I mean his cats not the piece of doo - doo film called the same, that maybe even makes people connect the film with the musical, one production being in the famous Raimund - theatre, Vienna 1984 (?...'9 83? , 85 ?) With my beloved Steve Barton aka Munkustrap , aka the main character in "Dance of the vampires" in 1997/1998 (? not sure ) ! I'm sure he was loved and missed by many, amazing singer but bipolar and he very sadly died in 2001 if I'm not mistaken. And sorry but btw.... F*CK this cheap film adaptation. Steve spoke German almost perfectly accent free because he had been studying and playing in Germany and Austria for I think almost a decade . Still miss him... So basically yeah . I mean the NewBee - cats. The real ones. I love anything that has ( real) fur and is willing to be pet. And even more the shy and non trusting ones because I can relate to them so much. I always had a soft spot for "problem animals"..... They aren't the problem. The "problem " is that nobody goes even the extra inch to think about WHY they have/ are a " problem " animal and rather try to solve the problem, than to find ways around it and adapt the circumstances, so it isn't a problem anymore....... Edit: year mistake

The story is deep from an emotional level but its just another story of a girl in the brink of madness after loosing her entire family, finding a cult which fuels her mind with enough pain that she finally breaks, loosing her old self & being reborn by choosing to be a part of a murderous cult. You know, the usual becoming a psycho killer things, lol. The movie is hyped up for no reason. Hereditary was a way better movie. Right after the movie was released, the director said that he'll release a longer cut of the movie for home video where 30 mins of extra footage will be added, which according to the director, will make the movie a completely different movie & experience. Haven't watched it or don't know if it's released yet or not, so can't say. Can you review that version please? Thank you🙂

I loved hereditary but the wall crawling killed it for me. Everyone I was watching it with started laughing, broke the immersion for sure. But holy cow was it intense before that, and I was not expecting the stuff they did. They held nothing back.

It might be a controversial opinion, but I didn‘t like Hereditary at all. A lot of the „scary“ moments felt cheap and predictable and the whole story had a pretty intriguing mystery just to be disappointing in the end. Sure, it had a great atmosphere and some really good shots but a lot of it was still really unnecessary and stereotypical. In addition to that, around half of the movie could‘ve been cut out and it would‘ve been the exact same movie. Midsommar, on the other hand, works with tools and methods that are entirely new and despite being a fairly long movie keeps you hooked for the entirety of it. Unlike Hereditary, it also has a satisfying conclusion, despite being incredibly messed up, it’s a perfect ending for the type of story it portrays.

This film was originally given an NC-17 by the MPAA. According to Ari Aster, around 30 minutes was cut from the final film mainly due to content. The director's cut released shortly after its theatrical run restores this footage. Most of the Swedish dialogue spoken by the Hårga natives is deliberately not subtitled, in order to create the sense of isolation for the audience and especially for the foreign visitors. When the film was released in Sweden, rather than eliciting fear in the audience, many people laughed. Many Swedish critics praised the film as an excellent black comedy. Mark displays an extreme phobia of ticks, which is based on Ari Aster's real-life fear of bugs and illness. Like Mark, Aster wore two pairs of socks over his jeans to ensure he would not receive bug bites. Despite the Swedish setting, the film was mostly shot in Hungary. Dani's surname is Ardor (visible on the computer screen in several shots), Latin for "flame." Despite sharing the same title and being horror movies set in Sweden, this film and the Danish cult classic "Midsommer (2003)" are not related. Despite the film taking place entirely in sunlight, it does not contain one shot of the sun. The film's trailer contained one shot of the sun. A shot of the sun has been reinserted in the director's cut of the film. Ariana Grande is a fan of the film, calling it one of her favorite films of 2019. She tried (and failed) to buy the May Queen Gown used in the film at an auction. She also threw a Midsommar-themed birthday party for herself on her 27th birthday. Klaudia Csányi's debut. Despite being the main characters and with the exception of cries and screams, neither Dani nor Christian speak in the last twenty-five minutes. During the meal where meat pies are served, Christian has a glass of reddish juice while everyone else has yellow juice. An image earlier in the film suggests that this may be because his drink has been spiked with menstrual blood. The strange mating ritual in the movie has very little to do with actual midsummer celebration in Sweden. It is however a fact that the 9 out of the 10 most common birthday dates in Sweden are all during April. 9 months after midsummer and July, the most popular month for summer vacations, that is. This is the fifth A24 film to be released nationwide without a platform release prior. The others were The Witch (2016), Free Fire (2017), It Comes At Night (2017), and Hereditary (2018). Much to the chagrin of Swedish horror fans, the film was not released during midsummer in Sweden, but a few weeks afterwards.

I really liked this movie. Everyone interprets its characters, their motivations, and the themes differently, so much so that you are almost required to watch it again to pick up on something you missed which sometimes prompts you to modify your theories or even change them completely. For instance, did Dani's sister really kill her parents... or did Pele? Is Pele a true friend, or did he set them up? Was Pele's parents killed or was the fire truly an accident? Was Pele's motivation specifically to get Dani to come on the trip? Is Christian as awful as some people initially judge him to be after all it take two to make a relationship happen? Is it his fault that Dani was so overbearing? Did he act against his will at the ritual? Did being a "bad" boyfriend justify his punishment? Rating: 4.5

I never noticed that thing in the background omg. There is something that I would like to add, this movie is intentionally comedic. I am under the assumption that everything you laughed at slightly was meant to be funny. Christians face when the lady joins in and sings is incredibly funny, the old lady coming to help him out when he gets tired is funny, the fact that the child was watching the whole time is funny. One of my friends saw this movie and hated it because it was “unintentionally hilarious” but i believe it is meant to be funny and moreover the balance between comedy and tension is superb as I was on the edge of my seat the whole time even when it was a bit comedic. This movie is absolutely fantastic and a future horror classic despite barely being a horror. Deserved 4 bees for sure. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Nice review of Midsommar. I assumed the that the movie is something like "A Midsummer Night's Dream" just from the title. Thumbs up for the review Bee Man.

Hi, Australian here. We do actually live upside down. The lies that you hear people saying about "Gravity in the southern hemisphere existing" is just propaganda from our tourism department thinking it will scare off travelers.

So a guy gets drugged up by a cult, then raped under the influence of narcotics, then killed for it by a psychotic girlfriend. Very classy, well deserved justice he received, 10/10 IGN.

In a way yeah I agree it is rape, he has no way to consent under drugs, but I don't think hsi girlfriend knew that? I also don't think we're supposed to think she's a good guy after she burns him. Tbh I didn't like him through the whole moive but I don't think being burnt alive was a fair fate for him

@newbee all that canvas was missing in the beginning was a depiction of David Karadine in a hotel room with a belt around his neck doing “you know”. It would have been a nice Easter Egg as they transitioned to the Tai Chi scene in the field. Cinema!
