Midtown Detroit is one of the top destinations in the city of Detroit, and I head out on a full walking tour of Midtown Detroit. I first walk down Woodward Avenue starting at Little Caesar's Arena which is home to the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons and then continue north up to the campus of Wayne State University as well as the Detroit Institute of Arts and Detroit Historical Museum. I also briefly walk down Warren Avenue to go by the Michigan Science Center and the Charles Wright African American Museum. I then head down Cass Avenue passing by many restaurants before finishing the walking tour over at the Detroit Shipping Company on Peterboro.
00:00 - Woodward Avenue
28:12 - Warren Avenue
35:10 - Museums on Woodward
43:00 - Cass Avenue

Midtown is very nice! I'm super excited to see the freeway vid! And since you said it's gonna be really good, I got my hopes high!

Thanks for this nice walking tour. Maybe you could do an episode covering solely the QLine tram. It runs partly catenary-free. The train-sets are US made. Interesting concept of public transport free of charge.

Thanks for watching! I may have to do that at some point as well as the People Mover which is also free now (at least for this year).

Midtown is very cool. It might not be a very long video but a walking tour of west village/Indian village would be an interesting video highlighting something in Detroit outside of the greater downtown area. Rivertown and Mexican village/ southwest Detroit would also be an interesting walking tour. You should check out downtown Plymouth/old village and Downtown Ann Arbor for a cool walking tour outside of Detroit if you haven't already..

Great videos. You can get investments for these videos from the business owners because you are advertising freely for them. If you ask nicely!!

Thank you! That's not a bad idea. There have been a couple of restaurants where I have promoted them, and they have given me a free dessert as a thank you for getting them exposure on KZfaq.

I guess you can say that it's a little funny how some people have pictures and recipes for Pokeball poke bowls.

I find that condensed pharmacies are common in downtown tourist districts.

That makes sense. I've seen that all the time in Europe, so it doesn't surprise me then to see that here in areas.

@scottman895 In some ways, the main part of Las Vegas Boulevard is, is kind of like the world's largest batchelor party with sidewalk bars and scantily clad ladies, though that we had to walk past.

So do you think Detroit is worth a 3 day visit for 500 dollars?
@scottman895
@scottman895 2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! There are some great food options in the city which are under $15 (or even under $10) a meal especially the coney islands. In addition, the riverwalk is free to walk, and the People Mover and QLine trains are currently free to use.

Unfortunately, a lot of older parking garages have major issues, including one that collapsed last year in NYC.

@scottman895 Unfortunately, poorly maintained structures are a common problem. Quite often, they have design problems that are usually worsened by inadequate maintenance. Both of these appeared to have contributed to the Algo Centre Mall collapse in Elliott Lake, Ontario, which killed 2 women and injured several others when a rusted beam supporting part of the rooftop parking deck fell after the weld seam rusted away after 32 years of saltwater exposure from the deicing salt.
@scottman895
@scottman895 4 ай бұрын
@@robertsitch1415 That is rather unfortunate. I would hope that they finally start improving the maintenance on these structures or replace them if they are "broken beyond repair".

@@scottman895 they still don't have any real government mandatory inspections of most private structures here. There had been many structural engineers inspections of the mall over the years. It was ironically a Michigan based company that supplied the inadequate waterproofing system that had only a membrane over the joints between the precast concrete base slabs.

@@robertsitch1415 Gotcha. I have a feeling that may be the case over here too in a lot of areas.
