I know a good many Finns immigrated to northern MN. UMD had a sauna for us students to use. It was great being so hot in a bathing suit and cooling off by going and rolling in a snow bank.

Wisconsin is literally just a spare Finland we have in the back in case something happens to you guys.

I live in Northern Michigan and people pronounce "sauna" the Finnish way because of all the immigrants. We have a couple Finnish restaurants and until a couple months ago, we had a university called Finlandia (ran out of money). My town was also home to a lot of Italian immigrants. So it must've been hell for the Finnish-Americans with Italian-Americans constantly breaking into their personal bubble 😂

@@Blech-h9z Wisconsinite here. Bacon grease makes fuckin amazing cookies. I make mine with oatmeal, nuts, dark chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and dry coffee grounds. Might sound nuts but if you get the proportions right they'll blow your mind.

Exactly what I was going to say. Only so many ways to be cheap. And honestly the world works be a lot better off of everyone lived this way. Except the economy relies on people spending money like water, so they encourage wastefulness.

At my house we have a drawer for new straws that we get at mcdonalds. when I'm washing the dishes, if the straw was used for something like juice, they get tossed in the sink and I wash them with soap to reuse them. If it was used for coffee or there's food stuck in the inside the straw becomes dirty, and a new straw emerges fresh from the drawer.😂
