One of the rudest, most arrogant and disrespectful drunks I've seen in a while. Most of them don't start out this nasty from the very first minute. Her superior attitude was still sickening especially because she's apparently blind to how unjustified it is. Who cares who you know or how much money you have when you're such a mess that a friend has to call the cops on you to get you trespassed from her business. And yet she still thinks she's better than the officers and has absolutely no shame about the pathetic situation most people would be mortified to be in.

I at one point was a hard core alcoholic. I was depressed and mentally not well.i coped by drinking. Long story short it took being arrested to get the ball rolling for me to get help. For about a year and a half after my arrest, the arresting office and the judge would often check in on me and see how I was doing. By that point i had gotten help at the Veterans Affairs hospital with treatment in alcohol abuse and PTSD dual diagnosis program. The officer that arrested me and the judge that just wanted to try and help me, they saved my life. Sometimes we just need good people in positions of authority or close family or friends to jump in and make us see what we are doing is wrong, dangerous, could be harmful or deadly to ourselves, loved ones, or the community. I truly hope this lady looks into the mental health options that the officer is trying to offer her. Thank you to those officers who were there for this lady that night.

Good job on your road to sobriety and wellness. The people I've known who have had addictions to drugs or alcohol were also self medicating to try and deal with some underlying and unresolved issues. My mother had several anxiety disorders, and it wasn't talked about in those days. She had OCD and social and general anxiety disorders. She passed all of those on to me! What she didn't pass on, thankfully, was her addiction to booze. I have Chronic Major Depressive Disorder, OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder and PTSD (following my discovery of my husband's body, after he ended his life with no warning.). I take a cocktail of antidepressants and anti anxiety meds to help keep me balanced, and I still have treatment with a psychiatrist because I still have flashback from his death, nearly 3 decades after the fact. I'm glad that both you and I have found better ways to cope. This world is a place that is difficult to exist in, at times, but giving up was never an option for me because I had two young children who needed me to choose LIFE. And I did. Best wishes on your path of healing.

Yea, hopefully you weren't a negligible server who overserved patrons then complaining when they don't drunk drive away or have the sense to call themselves an Uber when they at least make the right decision by not driving drunk. The police should have helped her call an Uber or done the honorable thing and drove her home.

@@mysocialstreamsthe police are not a taxi service for the drunk. Why should they enable her. She needs to learn a lesson. As far as I'm concerned, they should have made her crawl home. I guarantee you that she's not any nicer when she's sober.

@@mysocialstreamseven her daughter doesn't speak to her nor want to see her. That must tell you something. Easy for you to have pity for her, because you don't know her. Her daughter does.

@@mysocialstreams It's not the officer's job to chauffeur drunks home, however, I could possibly see it being done in some cases. Definitely not in cases like this though. The officer gave her plenty of opportunity to call someone. It was clear they did not want to arrest her. Perhaps if she would have stayed calm, semi-reasonable (some drunks do), didn't make threats, etc. they would have offered a ride. I do not think they were "un-honorable" in the least. In fact, I think they were more than patient with this obnoxious drunk. Additionally, we need to consider each situation .The condition of the person, are they co-operative & respectful? Are they in danger, possibly stranded on a highway or out in the boonies or stranded without any money, phone or family/friend to pick them up, etc. The locale can also be a factor in any stop. How far from her location was her residence? It could have been out of their jurisdiction. There could also be official policies in place for these situations that vary in counties & states considering that a courtesy ride can take a much needed officer out of the field for an extended period of time which could easily happen in a small or big city. So many factors could play into this scenario. In this case, Mom, needed a wake up call per the daughter. Hopefully she was open to getting the help she needs.

I see two things: 1. A drunk and obnoxious person in a car; 2. Mellow people sitting around a fire pit. I'd hang out with the fire pit group.

@@caleidoo Yeah I've gotta say, after careful thought and reading lots of the comments, that eventually stuck out to me. Of course, I wasn't there, so I have no idea of how things actually went down leading up to that moment. But it does seem like something ain't kosher here, on the winery's part. That said, I do not condone the attitude she had with the cops. Whatever the situation is, whether you're in the right or not, always be respectful and forthcoming when dealing with them. Otherwise, you're basically offering yourself up to them on a silver platter.
