Painting, at least for me, is my zen place. Doesn't even matter what aspect of it, planning, color schemes, lore, painting, building all of it just centers me and for a few minutes nothing else matters. Hopefully it can make the time pass while you process. It won't make it better, but, it can make it bearable. Best of luck to you.

Really really enjoying your video's. Been watching them for a few weeks now sometimes multiple times as your voices are so soothing! I haven't painted anything for over ten year's but today ordered the colours you recommend on the 1st Blackstone Fortress video & popped to Halfords to get the primers. Feel pretty confident I can follow your tutorials to a decent(ish) standard. Primed all my space hulk model's. Thought I'd start painting the Genestealers, then baddies from Blackstone & then back to the marine's in space hulk before painting the heroes from Blackstone Fortress. With some patience & luck my skill should improve & I'll be happy with the end results! Cheers again for the excellent videos!

Love your videos so much. For your future painting tutorials after Blackstone Fortress is done do you think you'll continue with the speed painting format/limited pallete? I really like it as I think learning how to mix paints effectively, making your own washes and the techniques you teach to get great looking minis with a constrained pallet is really useful especially on a budget. I know a lot of people myself included get put off with how many different paints you have to buy/use in other tutorials. You really elaborates on the fundamentals in an excellent way and really makes me want to paint more.
@MidwinterMinis5 жыл бұрын
I think that's definitely a good selling point if this series, I agree. I might include a few technical paints though. They're great for making things look awesome with little effort :)
@MidnightSvshi5 жыл бұрын
Oh of course. Things like using dedicated technical paints that ease an effect are a good investment and feel somewhat necessary. I was talking more about how most tutorials want you to get 8 different games workshop flesh tones for a painting face when you show us how to get perfectly good skin with a limited pallete

parts look good but I can't help but feel the face, upper chest armour, back and weapon were all severely underpainted and underdefined. The head merges into his golden chest piece and the weapon is very lacking is just being a solid silver overbrush. The thinned paints and washes are very time saving methods but it would be nice to use some of this saved time to bring out areas like his face and really grabbing parts like the weapon and chest, as you had done with the book.
