This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to copyright claim abuse on youtube. Often people will copyright soundtracks for things they don't own then claim any videos that use them.

Another example that misuse of copyright claims needs to have serious consequences. Like the use of the tools disabled for a set amount of time or mandatory compensation for revenue lost.

It's not as bad as when that one guy ran customer support all those years ago, I had a missing part (Elysian drop crate inserts) show up out of the blue a year after I mailed them about it, at which point I had already moved on with that project.

You could have found a recast supplier from China who would have sent the part with Tracked delivery and got it within 3 weeks 🤣

It's pretty amazing, and yet also totally believable at the same time, that GW's PR and legal departments are so disjointed that they didn't offer you compensation immediately after they came out with that line about "erroneous" flagging. What GW did to you is potentially both a civil and criminal violation, depending on the precise circumstances, and, at the very least, is deeply negligent. A smarter, more forward-looking company would have refunded your Titan purchase as a sign of goodwill and apology, or something along those lines.

Great little video! As a smaller tuber who can be pretty critical of GW (and big companies overall) I get kind of nervous sometimes speaking those criticisms. Maybe it's from following video game criticism for so long, but lately GW hasn't been doing a great job of dissuading those feelings.

I just got my ork codex I preordered. It was silly of me for trusting a preorder, but I was excited. Seeing it in stores where I could have bought it around a week earlier than I received it did sting a bit though.

It would be so cool if youtube would ask for an actual creator compensation fee if the claim is /is not valid. So the person claiming their content should be forced to actually fill out a legal document where they specifically declare the validity of their claim. That would affect the random false claims directly. If the content isn't legally theirs they have to pay for compensation based on views. They should be able to claim the money that the video generated if they clame it, so they basically don't lose any money if they make a false claim. Just get rid of the random false claims, just because you don't have any consequences. Make it fair.

Former postal company worker here. When a company says an item was scheduled for delivery, got to the street and later returned as not delivered or no one was home, it's one of two things. The parcel never left the postal office, was only scanned in possesion of the mailman to make it show up in the system and later returned. It's a standard, albeit unspoken of, procedure when the mail is overloaded with work. Personally, I hate it. And Royal Mail is famous for it. What caught my attention is why GW would have to recast the part. If it was returned, the most sensible thing to do is to label it again and ship the parcel once more. So, they either sold the piece to someone else and hence the recasting, the parcel got lost the first time (but they said it was returned to sender) or they didn't cast it at all and forgot about the matter until you wrote back again in early August. That's when the order came down to cast the piece and send it. At least that's what I collect from having to deal with some resin casters. Just a few thoughts and ramblings for the sake of (maybe some) clarification.
