I have the same white plastic ends. Do not remove them. I think in the video they are the same in black. They plug in just fine.

HI Sam-- what flooring are you trying to clean? As this model comes with the dual-function head, the SBD 285-3 combo tool, it's really only ideal for hard flooring and limited, low pile carpeting. If you are trying to clean larger area of thicker pile carpeting, Miele makes an amazing air driven tool, called the STB 30-5 Turbo TeQ attachment. This carpeting attachment has a spinning brush roll, and will glide across your carpeting much easier than the combo tool. Please reach out to our customer service staff for purchasing. @@philochristos Oh we are so glad to hear. You can also play around with your suction, starting at the highest level (all the way to the right), and going down from there. You'll want the turbo head bristles to freely spin, yet still pick up everything in its path. hope this helps!
