I've subscribed to the channel, watched a number of your videos, and read everyone's comments. I have a Miele G896 SCI PLUS with the Intake light on. I made the fork tool but my impeller does not appear to be stuck (I can turn it 360 degrees). After resetting, the unit will drain for a couple of minutes, then it will fill with water to the top of the filter basket handle, then it stalls for a number of minutes and finally, the Intake light comes back on. I'm very handy and willing to take the unit out of the cabinet and start tearing into it. Is there a single motor that performs circulation and drain? I ask because my unit drains just fine but no circulation. If they are the same, the motor is good. If they are different, then maybe my circulation motor is faulty? Are there ways to check other things (besides a stuck impeller) that I could perform before taking it apart?

Great questions. There are two different motors one for drain and a bigger one for circulation. Sounds like it’s draining really well and that it’s filling to the correct level. Usually during the fill cycle the computer will send power to the circulation motor as a test but it’s very common for the circulation motor impellers to get stuck. The fork trick should do the trick but sometimes it’s hard to tell if the impeller is stuck or if it’s moving. I like to make sure that the fork goes in as far as it can go and then I like to rotate back-and-forth a few times.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I've verified that the impeller is not stuck. After some practice, it becomes quite obvious when the fork is hitting the outer edge of the impeller vs going all the way in between the splines. I can turn the fork and feel a very slight amount of expected resistance. After it fills with water, I can hear a very faint electrical engagement (of the circulation motor?). This will last about 10 seconds and then stop. After a brief pause, I hear the electrical engagement again. This happens 10+ times (didn't actually count) and after all those attempts, the Intake light comes on and the time remaining goes to 0. I guess the main question is could the circulation motor have gone bad? I think I'm going to have to pull the unit apart and take out the motor - ugh.

The intake/drain issue keeps retuning after using fork tool to unstick impeller. Before I learned of this procedure, I twice removed the backflow valve and it seemed to work for a short time. Then I got a "no power" situation (no lights at all). I removed the control board to find a blown 472 k resistor. I found a used machine with a similar control board and it worked for several weeks but now the intake/drain issue has returned. I forked it and it worked fine but again it stopped mid cycle (after only 1 or 2 good cycles).Can anything else be done to save this G843 vi Plus?

Can you call Miele USA and ask for the 2 capacitors for your model and change them?

I tried this and it didn't work, but this did: Bail out the standing water. Add quite a few squirts of dishwashing detergent, then a kettle full of boiling water. Leave it for a while. By all means have a poke with the 'special tool' then re-run the dishwasher. I figure mine must have been clogged up with fatty substances.

We have a problem with our Miele G647 plus dishwasher; it runs the washing cycle just fine, then drains the water, fills up with water to begin the 1st rinsing cycle, circulation pump comes on but stops after 20 seconds, water intake, 20 seconds circulation pump and you can hear the water being sprayed by the arms just fine but then stops again, water intake etc.. this will repeat 4-5 times until the Drain/intake light comes on. The pre-rinse program runs all the way without any problems. Do you have a suggestions what the problem could be? Thanks in advance! EDIT: after some time the problem mentioned above occurred directly in the washing cycle but I managed to fix the machine, please see my other comments.

+Daniel Boehmer hi Daniel, It sounds like the heater/pressure switch on the circulation pump needs to be replaced.

thank you for your reply! indeed, the tube to the pressure switch was heavily clogged. The tube connecting the labyrinth and the bottom of the washer was also clogged. after taking apart the washer and thoroughly rinsing every part with a warm shower hose the washer is working like a charm! Small note for people that would like to clean the washer after reading this post: never touch the reservoir with orange chunks in it.

Daniel, I have the exact symptoms you had with your Miele. I've tried boiling water, starting it countless times, but still get the "intake/drain" error. It'll fill, spray for a minute or two, pause and retry a number of times before quitting. If I start the cycle again the sump drains just fine and refills. Does the unit have to be pulled from under the counter and inverted to get to this pressure switch? Also, what are you talking about re: the reservoir with orange chunks?

Hi Mark, hope I can still help. You do have to take the dishwasher apart. Start with the top, then the side panels (some screws are hidden behind the rubbers of the door) and make sure to make a photo of every screw you remove. (I didnt do that and because of that i misplaced some screws causing the door not closing properly....) After the panels are taken off, you first have to remove the labyrinth on the right side. Drain the labyrinth by unplugging some of the hoses and try you best to catch the water with a small bowl with two people (one can block the flow if the bowl is full). Then remove the valve/switch attached a bit higher to the labyrinth carefully and dont forget/loose the rubber ring.remove the cables and if im correct there is another some kind of switch attached to it. When the labyrinth (which is most of the time clogged with nasty black shizzle) comes out fill it up with warm water, (cleaning)soda and vinegar and let it stand for an hour or so. Then put the hose of the shower (without showerhead) on the inlets of the labyrinth and try to clean the labyrinth. Next up are the (clogged) hoses, take them from the machine and clean them with the shower hose. You do have to tilt the machine on its back and remove the bottom plate in order to reach every hose. please be aware of any water coming from the hoses so work again with two people. It is a nasty job and takes some time (took me 2-3 hours) but worth it :) When everything is put back to the machine is should work again. This dishwasher is really well built so think you should manage. Good luck and remember to mark/take a picture of every screw/hose!

Oh and the reservoir with orange chunks/salt can't be missed. I don't know its function exactly but has something to do with the regeneration of the salt? Anyway, don't open the reservoir or remove it hoses as it is said to be nasty stuff. Note 2: after you cleaned your dishwasher you should let it run 3-4 times on highest setting as a lot of scale (dishwasher wil have white glow) and rubbish will come loose after reinstalling everything. It takes some more runs before the scale will disappear completely.

Tried this and it cleared the problem then a few weeks later the same light came on and was flashing this time. Tried this again but no luck . Pulled out the machine and saw straight away that the inlet pipe was kinked , straighten it up and problem solved.

Hello.I tried it,on G660 (no lights) but the problem remains.Not enough pressure of the motor,as it turns the lower only arm,with one rotation every 10 seconds and although water goes even in the upper arm and from there it drops to the middle arm,neither of these arms is turning. Of course i checked the drain pump and it works fine,the filters all are clean etc.Just the circulating motor seems to have little pressure. Are you rotating the fork or moving from left to right?And what point of the impeller are we trying to access with fork?The three "wings" at 1:09 or the 0:57 much more "wings" of kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m76ah5SfsaqwgqM.html video?

There's a good chance you'll need to replace the circulation motor. You might try EBay to find a good deal.

+me me so once the fork engages you rotate right to left snd then left to right. I think it is unjammed since its able to pump the water.

Finally the pump was ok,but the electrovalve was faulty.So i changed it,the diswasher worked for 10 times and then it was leaky from unknown point.I am far from my home,when i return,i will try to find a solution...thank you all.

Handy I notice in the US the Miele pump is just outside the machine and on your kitchen counter so easy to repair then. Where the fuck is the pump located. Grrrrr Thank for nothing
