Cool review Al, the wildrod looks a interesting little speaker. I've never really been sold on the cylinder form factor though for some reason, and I'm still pretty happy with my soundcore boost in this category. I'd be interested to see if soundcore plan to bring a 30w smaller speaker in the mix to compete, at the moment it's really the boost and the soundcore 3 Vs these

the dust has not settled, i still get daily comments telling me how dishonest i am. its always over the uboom hell. i havent heard from earfun. lets see when its confirmed all new ones have the latest firmware. there are several firmware's now, no idea which is meant to be optimal.

@@mikehancock6280 I talk with the sound engineers at mifa all the time and give them pointers, the rod can now go lower than 60hz unlike flip 6, they test their speakers almost everyday and improve tuning there will be another update coming in November, roughly the 14th.

I believe ,the next generation of portable speaker should be loud and portable otherwise they go in the same direction as Nokia's phone's. Just my opinion . This Miva speaker is really a deal in deed .

I pretty much agree with your statement. I just wish the Wildbox actually uses its bass at lower volumes because even with the update there just isn't real bass at lower volumes

dont forget this is a £50 speaker. for me it now sits between the soundcore boost and maxsound plus for bass and clarity. boost most bass, maxsound plus most clarity/details and wildrod between them. its another option at the budget end.

Got my wildrod in I love it great sound and lights yes these speakers need apps but sounding good out of the box. I like the design and feel of the speaker camo just like your showing cool speaker for the price of 64.00 US dollars

Hey, off-topic but a suggestion. Have you ever tried any of those mini usb soundcard/DAC things with any of the speakers with a line out? I couldn't pair my Motion + last night so I used the wire and one of those little soundcards. It was pretty awesome. I thought that it was just a 3.5mm to usb converter. I bought it by mistake. Didn't know these existed. Maybe other people don't either. And they're dirt cheap. Mine cost $13 Cdn. It was a UGreen from Amazon.

i dont think wildrod is one they are developing any more. does size matter? i mean around that price you have uboom l, motion plus, soundcore boost and maxsound plus (for accuracy over bass). wildrod sits between maxsound plus and boost.

The woofers from my Mifa Wildbox have "Mifa 4 Ohm 25 W 2A10" written on the back of them. Maybe it's JBL is using Mifa woofers in their Extreme BT speakers ;-)

Mifa wildrod in my experience battery performed similar to flip 6 with lights on so should be going longer without lights

Привет из России! Благодарю Вас за проделанную работу. Однако, стоит заметить, что после смены прошивки колонка не стала звучать как JBL. В данный колонке не хватает мощности, напора. Как Вы заметили не хватает режущих высоких частот, да и низкие частоты не упругие, а рыхлые и размытые. При этом после смены прошивки показалось что колонка звучит слабее. В общем, есть ещё над чем работать. Ещё раз спасибо за проделанную работу 🙂

not over sbc, sure on a decent hifi you would be able to if the recording was genuinely 24 bit. lots of records just get upscaled.

Thanks for your effort and wasting so much time to do great review ! Seems Chinese speakers are almost did it, with a small but difference you can sense it. Just a bit more high and mid's and lower bass, but for almost half the price of JBL it's reasonable buying them IF they add TWS and EQ app !!!

If you want a bit more clarity and a bit less bass. It sits between the Maxsound plus and the boost. It has more bass than the Maxsound plus but less clarity

Mifa wildrod is better for clarity and those who dont want a big full bass, boost simply has a deeper fuller bass but because of that isnt great for clarity. Personally i need that bass so id go for the boost. Different sounding speakers.

I think the lights on the mifa WildRod would look WAY cooler on an all white colorway instead of a Camo colorway, I love the way they designed those lights but RGB doesn't go well with camo..

Amazing job by Mifa. They managed to take out the Flip 6 with a firmware update! I really like the Mifa better at the higher (65%/75%) volumes. Both of them are darn painful at 100%.

There's nothing amazing here, copy with worse sound for cheaper price. Instead of making a flat bass line with more extension they introduced some weird upper bass, sound is still colored with lack of extension in the treable.

Software bug JBL flip 6. Only On windows Laptop and Linux TV :- I have this issue so far, party mode don't work on either device. It only working on Android phone, and Android TV box. Didn't test on iPhone or other device.

the highs are also quite different, smooth but rolled off vs in yer face and edgy 😝 hope you are doing good 🤞

yes i agree, its so hit and miss and in theory both devices talk to each other and should be aware of the sync requirements. i guess i should research into it or maybe someone more techy on bluetooth will chime in.

The old one indeed sounds like an unfinished product lel, the newer one is quite decent imo, i don't like that 200-300hz boost region though, too boxie, and a bit too little treble indeed, less mids mb would compensate for a more smooth sound i think but thats my taste. Pls don't hate me but as i watched the video i thought again about the uboom L and though if you could do an updated review and a comparison against this one, which well tbh i think i prefer over this one but really looking for the most part at sound to pricepoint and then size. Can't go smaller than my stockwell 2 as at the time don't really serve much for me, which well its more about its sound signature in this case too, the stockwell 2.

ha! i cant hate you! you are a balanced voice on this channel! i love the stockwell 2, its one of my go-to speakers. earfun told me they would send an updated one when they started to come through as stock firmware which was meant to be this month. doesnt look as though they will send one but when i hear all new ones are updated i will do a comparison old firmware new firmware and then against others. 👍 but to be honest the abuse i got from that first video doesnt not make me want to go through all that again.

i have nothing against the speaker. i have told everyone its decent for the money., the trouble is as soon as i say its not a £200 speaker killer the heard comes knocking on my door 😭 still it wouldn't have effected me if Oluv hadn't joined in and got way too personal. i simply dont need that shit in my life. but i will do the compare when its confirmed all new ones have the firmware the fanboys are asking for. they even seem confused themselves at this point with several firmware's available from earfun themselves.

If it wasnt all the unessary hate in that video, things could get done quicker though, as for one i understand your trauma, for all the hassle it was at the time. Now hopefully new firmware comes so we can see the much anticipated updated review and then depends on oluv and the hardcore and the clueless fanboys to judge what they want or else go yolo, which again wd be what id do.

from what i can see, mifa boosted more bass at low volumes, as the volume goes higher, the bass gets similar on both, tho the jbl is noticeably louder.. seems like some chinese people bought jbl's drivers, put it in a different lower quality cabnet, and added some lights to it to sell it for less. kinda pathetic, i would still prefer the jbl because i trust their products more than some cheap shitty copies.

Lets be real guys, most of us (90%) will never find out a real sounds difference to justify a 3x plus tag price...i wish the Mifa has a very good longevity, i think thats the crucial point, but even then, you can buy another 2 more for the price of 1 JBL...and im pretty sure that Mifa doesn't make poor quality speakers
