Shame it was an auto. Literally would've had EVERYTHING to build something great if there was a manual trans except for that lame restrictive stock exhaust. Look at all the AE86's just sitting around too. Damn these guys got lucky to do this and snag this drivetrain for $1,200. The Recaro on the forklift is a hell of a nice touch too. I dig it.

A chaser seems like a cool car as well. Would love me one of those to scare the shit out of the gti's and honda's around here. But this one has had it's day. Just be glad the mighty engine lives on and doesn't get crushed. It prolly would have been crushed if they didnn't buy it anyway.

Ok, so I am super confused. I noticed Moog firing a gun. I have been planning a trip to Japan and enjoy shooting and looked high and low for shooting opportunities in Japan, and from what I can tell civilians are not allowed to have firearms. Can anyone shed some light on this?

because those are legally allowed into the country with some modifications, like he mentioned, Catylitic Converter(s) and Immobilizer. look up the episode "Importing a car from Japan"

+highlandrab19 No, it's because it's not legal to import a Chaser into Australia, because of our stupid Australian Design Rules _unless_ it's chopped in half (hence the half-cut terminology) and registered as spares.

highlandrab19 save space, and legal issue. Some country like Indonesia bans used car importation, however it allows parts (engines, etc.) imported.

Aayush Patel You can clearly see zero recoil, last time I checked civilian ownership of firearms is illegal in Japan, or so I've found. Correction, its a huge pain in the ass so, nearly Illegal, there a is a huge procedure and what not and you can only use a fire arm for hunting and sporting.

Prob rear diff and front cross member, you don't want to jack a car under the sump, it's not designed to support the vehicle weight and will damage it.

Yeah, In Australia You're looking at $5k for any working car, pretty much. Only real sheds go for $1000 or less. We don't even get half of the exciting Japanese models because local car laws and import regulations are stupidly strict. If you import something they don't want in the country, they crush it at the docks and send you the bill.
