+Derrick Keough go turbo then tune, get a mega squirt and you should be straight on stock internals. Upgraded injectors etc depending how much HP you wanna go. Definitely a better clutch. Mine slipped with 130hp~ in 3rd. And that wasn't even turbod

Chris Watson Local wreckers is always decent (at least to me), ebay but make sure it's the USED section; good deals on used branded turbos. The stuff that usually costs the most is the ECU because most people want new.

ChastBlind I pulled the trigger on a kmod stage 1 turbo kit. Good for 650 wheel. Was getting ready to pull the trigger on a built k24 when I decided to sell it all bought a truck and a dirtbike and called it a day. Big turbo build will come soon tho.

So im looking to get a new car. First off I know NOTHING about cars! Nada zip zero zilch. I like the sound of turbo (ever since I was 16 working for door to door sales guy drove us to and from home base in his wrx and god did it sound amazing. When that boost kicked in you were planted in your seat.) So I figure I would ask a bunch of gear heads what they like why and what I should look at. Just for a ball park ive been thinking silvia s15 (200sx model) But seriously if you ask why ill say cause it looks nice and can sound nice rofl. In the end I figure would be better to ask some of the experts or atleast more experienced people out there for opinions ideas and reasons. So let me know what car and why. Budget 10-20k depending on the car the power what uses I could get out of it (wanting to try track days again). Thanks in advanced

The Festiva crowd puts this 1.6 motor in our cars all the time! Usually out of a Mercury Capri though...or Mazda 323! There are a couple Aussie guys currently working on a build with Festiva and a Capri XR2.

The reason that the the MX-5 has factory tapped oil feed and return lines is because the block is essentially the same as the B6T engine from the 1988-1989 Mazda 323 GT/GTX. Obviously the engine is mounted transversely which means the lines aren't designed for the RWD setup in the MX-5. I'm sure there's been a few attempts at just dropping in the B6T into a MX-5 but it's probably easier to do something like this. The B6T put out 132 hp and 136 ft/lbs of torque stock, at about 8-9 psi. After throwing on an intake, DP, MX-6/626 GT Intercooler and disconnecting the 11psi boost cut/buzzer and having the ECU reflashed/chipped you can run them safely to 16-18psi and they fly.

one thing you did not mention in the vid is compression, how would you go about lowering your compression so you can run a turbo (apart form throwing on a thicker head gasket or is that all you need)
