Our matriarch, Mama McClure, was born in Nigeria. Her native language is Yoruba. In this video, the family will attempt to speak Yoruba (with translation lol) to see how much Ami can understand!

I speak Igbo and when we can’t say some words in Igbo, we speak Yoruba because we speak Yoruba fluently. I’m also from Nigeria as well 😊🇳🇬

I love how you said "e dide" "e joko" to your children. Normally we say "dide" "joko" to children and teenagers on daily basis. We add "e" when we are adding a tone of respect or when addressing an elder or someone you don't know. Well done. That's a great upbringing. Respect is unique to Yoruba culture. That is not to say we don't respect children though.

🤣🤣🤣🤣I'm Yoruba and Justin's pronunciation was hilarious. Alexis really tried. Ami is good, it's cos she doesn't speak it often. I wish Nana was here😂😂🤣🤣 Please repeat this video when Nana comes. I'm really enjoying all the content.

I’m Igbo but I understand a little bit of Yoruba. I’m hungry is “ebi npami”. Water -is “omi”. Food is “ounje “.

Well I love this video I’m a Nigerian 🇳🇬 I live in Senegal 🇸🇳 I can speak Yoruba very well I can speak Igbo and I can speak French and Italian I just love languages

my 4 year old daughter is half Nigerian - her father is Yoruba, we live in the UK. We are trying to slip some of the language in here and there so it's a huge learning curve for me but really enjoying learning so much about the culture these last 7 years.

"Nothing can stop me from talking, I will find another way!!!" 😁😆😅😂🤣 Atta girl!!! My parents tried to teach me their native tongue, being a kid, I didn't want to learn. I regret that SO MUCH! Knowing more languages, can help when least expected & u can save a life, when need be!!! The kids r so smart, it won't b long before they r better than Ami! Which won't take long at all. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 LMBBAO!!!
